Zbrush normal map issue

Discussion started by irgum76

Hi,

I'm totally noob in Zbrush but I made a model in 3Ds Max and I thought I give a little bump in Zbrush so I made it but I can't save as normal map it's write always "SubTool skipped, no UVs assigned" but I tried some other stuffs some project works well but other ones write made the normal map but don't do anything else its don't calculate and don't make the file
I looking for the answer on the internet but I couldn't find it

Please help me
Thanks: Irgum

Zbrush sucks for get normals at my opinion, try another tool. You need lowpoly with UVs and hipoly. Maybe I dont know all tactics at Zbrush, but another tools more simple to get normals.

Thank you Djkorg But what other tool do you think? I need just this object I tried exporting as obj and in the max made the normal map But my model over 20 million poly after Zbrush modifying and this is too much to my computer But if I save lower resolution the details are disappear I would like post as entry for fantasy weapon chelenge but I stuck this part

Your lowpoly mesh must has uv coords. Include uv when export your lowpoly obj file from original software.

Try to merge mesh in new empty scene or may be last service pack for 3ds Max will fix it.
