acetone baths only work on abs. pla is easier to print but needs love afterwards. sanding, filler and primer filler (4$ at walmart) i prefer airbrush pver hand painting. good luck
Hi all!
I am new to 3D printing. I would like to know which specific methods you use to make your 3D printed objects shinny (glossy) and also to paint them. I have seen several methods on the Internet but would like to know what people in this community use.
Your help will be much appreciated.
Sandra

In order to turn the 3D printed objects glossy, you can rub them with the help of a sandpaper, use finishing putty to coat the surface and then paint it with a suitable enamel paint.
This would offer your objects the desired gloss.
for the glossy effect, it is necessary to place the object in a bath of acetone vapor (without touching the acetone of course). A simple jar is enough, and heating acetone. (I have some examples in my portfolio :

Any paint for a scale model can be used to paint a printed object.
