Website security?

Discussion started by KyberDev

I wasn't sure where to pose this question but its come to my attention that there are tools available that can steal paid content from the website. Will cgtrader be updating to address this so that our work as creators is protected?

Unless you're talking about the models that has embedded marmoset previews, I'm pretty sure there are no tools to steal 3d models from cgtrader. Care to explain what you mean?

Apparently there is now. The tool seems to bypass the purchase authentication for downloadable models. Not just here but several model sites are compromised, I'm just wondering if cgtrader is aware or making adjustments to counteract those tools.

ıf this "tool" can bypass the payment process directly to the download page. Then it is e-commerce exploit not only cgtrader will effect but most e-commerce sites will.

Hi there,

To our knowledge there are no tools or another way to steal paid content from our platform.

There was a recent case when a user was sending fraudulent messages to some of our designers, claiming that they have access to the files, but this is not true - none of the files were actually downloaded.

If you believe this is a different case and you have any specific examples of the security breach, please contact our Support via support@cgtrader.com as soon as possible, so we could investigate and take action.

Kindly,
Greta from CGTrader
