Kind of like taxi drivers in some countries. Every one is ready to take you someplace, whether that the location you asked for, or not. "Yeah, yeah, yeah...get in."
I am a 3d generalist, with 2 decades of experience working in many fields 3D related including rigging. Though rigging has never been my favourite thing, and a particular job escaped me because of complications related to 3 jointed hind legs that need to be extremely flexible.
I decided to see if I could get some help, but it seemed I was getting a lot of replies from people who hadn't read the post properly or they are just chancing it. People just post images of their models and share no operational rigs in my program of choice.
Once the job had slipped down the list a bit without anyone qualified to do it, I decided to cancel, and reposted it. Now I am getting the very same messages from the same artists, like they are automated replies. One artist replied to both posts instantly with the exact same message. Both times sharing work irrelevant to my request.
Not really complaining, just making a point that they make it much harder for me to find the right person for the job. Kind of like queue jumpers pushing in front of the real talent, and makes me reluctant to either post further freelance jobs, or apply for any freelance jobs myself.
Just my thoughts.
