Creator Portfolio Filters/Search

Discussion started by doctorkannon

I recently found a creator who has some interesting 3D models that I could use. In fact this creator has a few packs that I am interested in. However, this creator also has 3000 other models in their portfolio. I need to search through 86 pages to find what I need.

It would be very helpful if the creator's portfolio had more filters, or if I could search that portfolio by name or tag. Adding more filter categories (vehicle, building, foliage, person, etc.) would help greatly. Also a text/word search would be useful. Not easy to implement, I know, but very helpful.

Thank you.

Hello there,

On the designer's page, above the previews, there are tags, by clicking on which you will be redirected to a page that will show all models of this seller with this tag.
The models on this page can also be sorted by format, best selling and newest/oldest, high/low prices.

In addition, there is a section https://www.cgtrader.com/designers in which the search by tags/designers names is also implemented.
Everything is simple and clear.

Regards.

Thank you for the reply. The portfolio in question has a lot of products. In fact, I am not able to select the tag that I wanted. Here's a screenshot on Imgur: https://imgur.com/a/XPHuKiP The designers link you posted is helpful, thanks again. However, in Firefox, that search is broken. And in Chrome, I can only search by designer -or- category. I would like to search both. I did receive a reply from Customer Service and they have suggested that the site is due for an upgrade. So there's hope...

I did find a solution by customizing the URL with search terms. If I'm looking for trees from "creater321", I can enter this URL:

https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-models/tree?author=creator321

The format is
tag?author=authorname

It's hack, but it works for now.

That's interesting. If you go to the author's creator page, you should see items broken down into particular categories and keywords as well. Clicking on the keywords will send you to a similar URL string for that author. At least that's what I see on my page. For example, some of my models are listed as "high poly" and some are "low poly", and some are "3d print". Next to each category are keywords that can be clicked on which will take you to a custom URL with a string format similar to what you've discovered.

Check the imgur link I posted above. If the creator has 100s of models in those categories (Hi, Low, Print, etc.), the tags disappear.
