Pointless/Rude/Random Bad Comments on Models?

Discussion started by beckstation

So regarding this model: https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-models/military/armor/sci-fi-helmet-military

I got a comment that is written as shown below. The account is brand new, the comments he/she makes are very random, and in some cases confusing. Anything I can do/say, and do others get comments like this? This is the most popular model I sell and people have had some great uses with it and have no issues at all, so I'm a little lost....

Comment:

"WTF IS THIS HELMET!? MY COLLEGE PROFESSOR GAVE OUR CLASS THIS HELMET AS AN TEXTURING ASSIGNMENT WITHOUT DOUBLE CHECKING AND IT WAS A COMPLETE HELL! At first the helmet looks really nice and clean BUT it's a complete hell on maya, the entire UV Mapping for this object has more faces than a "saving African children advertisement", the ENTIRE UV is triangles and not a single square which made it impossible to UV, There's more than 12,000 polygons in this and there are faces within the object which made it really unnecessary hard to unfold. (would never again use and please for the love of god fix it)"

My reply to his/her comment can be found on the model page if you wish to see.

Hi Beck,

In cases like that, do not hesitate to contact our support team by hitting the intercom button (at the right bottom corner of the site) - they'll investigate the issue and will remove the inappropriate comments should they occur.

Regards,
Eddie

it is to avoid this kind of issue that wireframes must be provided in the product description . Moreover, with 3DS max (since your helmet was made with 3DS Max) the converstion into OBJ or FBX produces triangle by default, it's necessary to specify "quad" in the dialog box during the conversion (in any case in my version of 3DS Max)

Perhaps you are right. However this particular person mentioned issues that other buyers have not had problems with. Not an issue now. CGT Staff removed the comments as the people commenting never actually paid for the model themselves and the comments were not structured well nor were some of the comments that were made, necessary.

yeah i agree comments like that are a little too much, they can privately message you that, I would suggest though that you should look into raising your prices across your entire collection, you have great models but are practically giving them away for free.
