Same here. My most recent sale was refunded due to it being fraudulent. Does that mean a customer stole my model?

Colleagues, you create a lot of the same topics.
Unfortunately, I was sure that SG Trader really protects our sales, but in reality this does not happen. I decided to remove the expensive models on Skechfab. Very sorry. and apparently will have to look for an alternative SG Trader. Time changes our convenient trading platforms.

#MeToo
Double purchase on January 18th from Brazil was refunded with reason of fraudulent transaction. It looks that someone stole large bunch of models over weekend. Expect fresh batch of models on warez sites very soon :/

Curious if something could be done to prevent or at least to lessen extant of those frauds? Like no download link, untill bank will verify transaction?

Hi there,

On behalf of CGTrader, I would like to apologize for any inconvenience or distress.
Let me clarify what happened:
A technical glitch in our system enabled certain models to be downloaded without the buyer’s credit card being charged. The buyers were asked to delete the downloaded files or re-purchase the model(s) for legal product usage.
We will get back to you tomorrow, January 24 with more information.
We again are sorry for the inconvenience.

Best wishes,
Mantas

And come on, ppl that bought our models arent going to destroy the files. Its like loosing a 50 dollar note and asking the public to bring it back.

Totally true, but maybe some of them will be afraid to use models in their projects whereas they don't have the rights

The response I got from customer service was basically, "sorry, we try to prevent it but it can still happen." They were cordial and gave me some extra royalty rates for my next sale, but it's really upsetting that one of my most expensive models is now probably out there on some pirated site. It hurts not only us but CGTrader as well. I've never had this problem on other 3D stock model sites. I will continue to stay on CGTrader though, as I really like it, but I hope they do something more about this since I find myself thinking twice about posting my more valuable and expensive products here knowing there are potential thieves who can just steal it

You right! Not so much regret about money as the fact that an expensive model is in bad hands

I believe that in my case that was a real fraud and not a glitch of the system, otherwise buyer's account wouldn't be deleted soon after refund.

On the other hand, i have respect to CGT team, because they admit their mistake and not try to cover it with some story about hackers or similar shit. We cannot know if that's never happened on other markets, because i believe that most of them would try to cover up the truth. I had refund on TS recently and when i contacted their support to ask about the reasons, they first try to denny the fact, said that there was no download of the files, although their stats clearly showed that files were downloaded. Eventually after six weeks of conversations, they decided that it was fraud chargeback from paypal and they can't do anything about it. Basically they told me to piss off, probably because i was to annoying.

yes mine as well, bought by some strange username who has no reputation or points or anything. I can understand why sites like CGT won't wait until CC clears because most customers need their purchases ASAP and wouldn't want to wait, but I hope there's a solution coming

Yes! I think CGT should impose a restriction on multiple purchases by a new registered person.

@DUST, actually that might be a good idea to impose some restrictions on the very first purchase! Of course that would not guarantee to eliminate frauds completely, but might help to lessen its extent.

Not the first purchase, but definitely all purchases over $200 or $300 must proceed manually to provide additional security... I was also affected with this isssue - two my products for $300 and $700 were refunded

Hi again,

Any sellers affected by last weekend's technical glitch involving the payment process will be eligible to receive free sales, i.e., a 100% royalty rate, for their upcoming orders.

Best wishes,

What do you mean forever? It's only been a week since the fraud and you already panicking. By the way, yesterday i sold the model, which was stolen a week ago, so no, it is not lost forever ;]

I've been stolen from other websites since last year. That job cannot be sold again. I don't think that will happen here again.
