3D Model Pricing

Discussion started by VirtualMecha

Hello, i want to ask for your opinion about my pricing, did you find my price reasonable?, or was it too expensive? i've been selling these model for a year & so far i only got 6 sales.

The gundam model usually took me almost 3 weeks to make (Modeling only).

Your models seem to be nice, but you may want to review your target market.

Perhaps slightly high for similar rigged and non-rigged models out there.

I wouldn't say that the prices are too high, quite contrary. The problem is that your target audience is most likely the hobbyists and they usually are unwilling to spend too much on the models. Another issue is that you are offering only blend file format and thus you are cutting off large portion of potential customers.

actually the model kits are more expensive than my 3d model, a brand new model kit with similar detail usually cost at least 40$, as for file fomat, i tried to export it into obj but it makes the model become very messy, even though i've already applied all modifier & making sure the mesh faces are in correct direction

Hello,

Prices are basically normal. Try to put 9 or 9.99 at the end of the prices. As already noted one format is not enough, at least you need to add fbx and obj.

It is probably more about "specialty" and not about the price. Your prices are completely OK. But you probably ask why yu don´t have many sales.
The reason could be it is so special.
On RenderHub, where a lot of "Robot" and "Cyber" fanatics are buying and selling, ypu could have some more chances. but there are also a lot of DAZ freaks,
so you would have to adapt their wishes, converting your files into DAZ. And I guess, it is a problem for "normal" artists.
On CGT, just "generics" sell.
