Weird Moderation

Discussion started by Akinaro

Hello, recently I noticed that almost all my models that I updated are taken offline to be checked by moderation. Its tad weird for me because most of those models where posted months ago, and Im just updating them with fixes, rigs or new textures. I dont really mind waiting one or two days for that, but problem is that for example one member asked me for converting model to STL, because he want to print it, so I quickly convert it and I added files to main pack so he and others can download it... but model is now offline and, technically future customer, cant even buy it when he wanted...

So I probably lost or will lose client that got bored waiting for moderation to put my model back online... this is just one instance, true, but its kind of annoying.... :/

Any reasons for this weird moderation of any model that Im updating?

It's not weird moderation. CGT doesn't allow selling 3d printable models of weapons, you probably triggered support to look into it by converting your model to a 3d printable.

You can't sell some printable files if it is a weapon or something like that.

It would be because of it being a weapon, because most of your models are weapons

Hi there,

Thanks for raising your concerns.

If your models were printable 3D models, which is a replica or realistic depiction of weapon, it most likely were banned.

Selling printable gun models is illegal and we are monitoring our marketplace to remove such models. If the suspended model was any kind of weapon, it is most likely to be the reason for suspension. Please note that if your model was not intended for 3D printing, but it has .stl file included, it can be also suspended for the same reason.

If you have any questions, please contact us via support@cgtrader.com.

First of all thanks for the replays.
Second, I understand that printable guns are big concern but what about updating textures/rig in other models? Just because Im adding stl file they are banned? Isnt that tad overreacting because I can print any of my model using obj format... So just because I include obj format it mean that ALL my models need to be reviewed? I often make 3D printable parts of gun for Airsoft and I see that others do the same and thats not only legal but common.
Now I need to remove stl files from all my models just because are guns models? I never had that problem before here, and I never had that on other sites and just like that BUM now everytime I upload even texture change I will need to wait for moderation?
converting file to STL is not even needed to 3D print, so for me its WAY overreacting especially when we talk about low poly guns....

Posting printable 3D models, which are replicas or realistic depictions of weapons is direct violation of CGTrader's Terms and Condition, however if you believe otherwise, please contact support@cgtrader.com and we will investigate the situation. Please note: if your model is not made for printing we can republish it if you agree to remove the STL file. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you.

Hi,
I have some models for 3d printing, but they are all replicas of the buttons and parts of a controller. Sometimes it appears as a "pending" status when trying to publish it or when uploading a new image.
What would be the correct way to publish it without being suspended?
Or I have to notify in each case to solve it?
