Sharing some of my sale stats

Discussion started by tomislavveg

Hi all. I want to share this with you to show how free models don't mean a lot. As you can see i have more downloads of my sold models then my free. I only have one free model for 3D print, and will add one free for CG soon. Purpose to add free models is for your customers to test and see the quality of your work before they decide to buy. Your goal is to sell, therefore i can not understand some people here who even have all models free or 50%-50%. Another logic behind this why people post free models is cause they are hoping client will download their model and then he will contact them for work. No one ever contacted me cause they downloaded my free model. But many have contacted me cause they liked the model they bought.

Thanks for the insight. Does your free model reflect your sold ones at all?

I'm glad to help. Does they reflect, i cant know cause i cant see who downloaded my free model. If i would be able to see that, and see for example "person A downloaded my free model, then same person bought my model", then i would know for sure. But i cant see who downloaded free model.

Hello Tomislavveg,

This is not representative, because you have just one free object (if i see well) .
Personally I have five times more download for free model that model sold downloading.

what is interesting to note here is that those who download free models are rarely those who buy pay models, and vice versa

I guess we all have different experience. Based on number of models for sale you have (impressive gallery by the way), number of free models is ok.
