What we want is to bring as much as possible people here on site to make them upload or buy or models, comparing to turbsquid this place is 10x better but it doesnt get attention it deserve.
I have and idea that I ve tried and it worked. So we are all making best models we can and upload them here to sell, what I did yesterday is making one of my best models free for 12h and I ve shared it on facebook, around 40-50 people clicked the link and around 10 of them downloaded my model which means they needed to make account, so 10 new people on site + I ve gained around 50 points for likes and each download.
I think it s a good idea and I am only not sure is it fine with Cg Trader user agreement but I think it is, basically it s just sharing my model for free one day and getting people attention on social media and it worked!
What do you guys think???
Its a nice idea, but I think, that you can loose some potential buyers when you have it free :)
I think we also need to expand fan base on social network ...

We need to promote it as much as possible, maybe create gallery with pictures(furniture, outdoor sections with image+link to the model maybe)

Well it is true that you can loose some customers but if you have a lot of models and you just pick one to share for free for one day you cant loose to much, it s not really about promoting only your profile but whole Cg Trader, the problem I see is that Cg Trader is just awesome, from interface and design to his awesome system of working (not counting the errors) and we have to promote whole site cause it s a lot better then most of others and it can be good for all of us, not only individualy.

What I also know is that talented people from whole of the world are aslo having their own facebook pages or other social network where would be great to link models from gallery or others.

I've been making models for over 10 years and I've found offering a completely-free item doesn't lead to sales. A vast majority of people will come to a site, download the free item, and leave.
The better promotion would be a "buy this model and get a second model for free". That way, the customer has to actually spend money *first* to get the free item.
Well, in what way you can implement this? Its a solid idea, but the current state of the site doesn't provide any support to this kind of sales ...
