Hyperwallet

Discussion started by skapricorn

I got email from CGtrader where they are proud to announce transition to Hyperwallet.
Usually when somebody is proud to announce some "faster and better" it means more problems and expences. But I don't want to be too pessimistic.
So I want to ask community's opinion.
Any thoughts?

It does matter if it's better or worse than current methods, cgtrader said that this hyperwallet will be the only choice to get paid, so you only have two options - sign in, or withdraw all your models.

Just received e-mail about payout transfer to the hyperwallet and invitation to set up my account. The amount of personal information required is quite mind boggling. Spent almost an hour in trying to activate that damn thing and get access to my money - no luck. Those corporate people are really good at building obstacles between you and your hard earned cash.

Thank you!

Set it up, seems to be working ok. For some reason CGT wanted to pay me about a third of the November total. I will take it gladly, but under the old system I wouldn't expect that money until 20th Dec. I'm fine getting it early.

Happy here only CGTrader, because no need to send almost all money in one go. Now they will have more money to spend. Because of payment delay after sale. I hope they can hire some people for support. I’m waiting about 20 days for answers from them. Remember days when they were answering in same day. Oh these was great days :)

So how can it connect with cgtreder?
What do I have to do? I'm totally confused.

I'm luckily not in the club yet but I have some questions.

So there is only one option - weekly payments and no payout minimum?

And what about currencies? You receive USD to hyperwallet and then you withdraw to your local currency? Any fees included? What is the exchange rate? Paypal's exchange rate isn't good but I can imagine it can be even worse.

LemonadeCG wrote
LemonadeCG
There's no fees for transfer to your bank. If your account is in USD, then you're lucky, otherwise paypal exchange rate will be applied, which is really bad, but what can you do about that. Basically, if you used to get payment to paypal before, then nothing gonna change, except that you will be paid on a weekly basis from now.

We can imagine worse: Paypal multiplied by Paypal. + more hassle with tax administration. "Thanks" for it, CGtrader. If I will face with any problems during hiperwallet registration, I will remove all my models from CGTrader (anyway my models are nothing comparing with all CGT 3D bank and even comparing with stores of very productive designers that has thousands of models.)
TazMan2000 wrote

It looks like payout fees are no more. That's a big plus. I will also try to figure out if my bank allows me to open account in USD, that would mean i can chose more reasonable currency conversion. In the end, this hyperwallet may end up better option for my wallet. We'll see.

3dgtx wrote

"payout fees" on CGT were always peanuts. To celebrate it as a victory is absurd and inappropriate. The only what "We`ll see" is where it leads when the bottom line is drawed and right now it looks bad due to massive sales drops for most vendors, bugs on CGT with payment processes and other million bugs on this marketplace. And the AI-Love thing that as it seems disgusts many here causing them to quit CGT hence shrinking that thing and discouraging potential buyers who run to the next best alternative. Have a nice day and enjoy to count your bucks in your wallet in next time.
LemonadeCG wrote

Payout fees is only peanuts for those whose payout is peanuts in the first place. For the rest of us it's about 2% and caps at about $20. I wouldn't call it peanuts. And i'm more than happy to not having to lose thus money to the bank, not to mention added benefit of option to chose fair currency conversion and not extremely greedy one from paypal. If hyperwallet is worse option for you than the previous ones, fair enough, everyone has his own preferences, i don't call it absurd and inappropriate.

Was anyone on the site asked if this would be "more convenient" before implementing?
Same thing with the AI licenses set default on. A recurring disregard for their customers.

My bet is that someone from CGT's management has shares or a cousin at Hyperwallet.

Whether Hyperwalle is good for some or bad for others, I also hate being forced into one method of receiving payments.
For a week, I have been suffering from a failure to activate my Hyperwalle account
I, for my part, updated the payment agreement and provided the required information
But until now I have not received any activation email from Hyperwalle
However, I see a mark on the payment agreement page that says it has been verified
I have about $3,000 in receivables that I cannot receive
I sent an email to Hyperwalle and their response was that I should return to the cgtrader question
Also, I sent an email to cgtrader support to resolve the issue and was shocked when I received a strange response, “I cannot help you because you do not have a Hyperwalle account yet.”
I wrote to him that I cannot create a Hyperwalle account and that cgtrader must create an account on my behalf
I have not received any answer or solution for two days

The Hyper Wallet agreement page states it's a faster way to pay people, but then proceeds to state it takes up to 20 days to receive payments.. What is the point and meaning of this? Did anyone ask for this? I never had a problem receiving payments directly to Paypal once per month. I don't like the idea of giving unnecessary personal information when it was never needed before to a website I never even heard of. And looking up reviews for the site, it has very bad reviews and a bad reputation. Very shady. I don't like the direction this is going. Why try to fix something that isn't broken? Now we have the burden of our money and personal data/info being in the hands of a shady website we didn't want or ask for. I can see this backfiring on CGTrader and a lot of people will end up leaving. I'm willing to be patient and give it a try, but at the first sign of trouble I'm gonna cancel my store and report to BBB.

TazMan2000 wrote
TazMan2000
It is a lot faster. Before, if you had a sale on the first of the month, you'd have to wait until the 20th of the next month to get paid, which could be up to 51 days. But if you had a sale at the last day of the month it would be 20 days until the payout date. So I think 20 days until you get paid is a lot better. You also can chose when you want to transfer your money to your bank account. If you're dealing in USD, the exchange rate wouldn't matter, but if you are dealing in foreign currency, you can pick a date when the exchange rate is better. What websites are you looking at that say CGT has "very" bad reviews. A quick search and the lowest I could see is 3.9 out of 5. I think that saying CGT is shady, is a bit extreme, but the way they did the transition to AI and license being automatic was definitely sketchy. The BBB doesn't exist in Lithuania, so I'm not sure how well that will work.

I am from Canada as well, and I entered my drivers license number on the payment agreement page and it accepted it (except that there was an issue with putting in a dash). I don't know why you didn't use your driver's license. What I meant was, that CGTrader has to abide by tax laws. If you want to make money on this site, they have an obligation by tax treaty to ensure that the person making monies is somehow identified by a government ID. This is not new and if it isn't already implemented on websites such as this, it will be soon. The government wants to know your income so they can tax you on it. It's not some scheme to mine your personal information.

I am from Alberta, and initially I had a similar problem. Our license numbers have a dash, which the CGTrader approval system did not like. I emailed support and they said to leave the dash out and it did work. So perhaps try emailing support@cgtrader.com for advice. Perhaps try a zero before your numbers. I do think that CGT needs to figure out their verification software or provide some drop down help. People will enter in information exactly as shown on their identification. Letters, numbers and special characters. The software should be able to handle that.
louiemgallant wrote

Well I got my first payment this morning not sure how this fn thing is supposed to work but before this I was expecting 97usd on the 20th from dec sales. This morning i recieved $18.90 into this bullshit hyperwallet and was charged $2.56 fees on that WTF!!!!!! That is FN Fucking ridiculous. This weekend I think I will take the time to move my models to a different platform. To put this fee into perspective on previous payout amounts of this size I averaged $0.40 to $0.66cents. Also why 18.90 what happened to the 97, when I look at my account now the remaining of the 97 is lumped in with recent sales as a total and has now changed to yet to be paid.

I think facebook knows about you much more than paypal or hyperwallet will ever ask. They provide financial service, so they need to have some info to identify you as legitimate entity. I think the information hyperwallet is asking is pretty comparable to the one you're required to provide when you want to open bank account.

Regarding bad reviews, when did you last time went to trustpilot or similar sites to say that you are happy with a site, or service? People only goes there when they have issues. It's natural that you'll find mostly negative reviews there, unless the site is buying fake positive reviews to skew results. I can understand frustration from the people who used payoneer or other payment transfer methods, but for those who used to get paid through paypal, basically nothing has changed.

If you reside in EU and you obey tax laws, you have to generate (and report) invoice for each payment. If there is no option to change payment frequency or payment minimum I will really consider if is worth the hassle to generate 52 invoices per year and give all that personal info for a few bucks. Especially when this site is already broken beyond repair.

I'm on the side of those artists who are going to leave this platform precisely because of the latest "innovations".
The problem is that CGT have closed off the option of choice.
In fact, that's just one of the problems they've generated in recent times.
But that's enough to make a decision in favor of the many alternative marketplaces with a much more artist-friendly approach.

I've sent them this:

"I still haven't signed up for your "hyperwallet" because you forced this innovation and removed the regular PayPal and Payoneer that worked fine before.
You have deprived all of us of choice.
So I will deprive you of my 3d models and the ability to make money from them.
I decided unpublish all my models until you will not get us choice.
And I ask you to send me the CURRENT payment agreement concerning my current state and account and payout my current earnings concerning that payment agreement.
Bring back the WORKING methods and add the new one as an OPTION, not the only option!"

Will see the answer.

If I notice that it is something that will be a loss, I will withdraw and sell only through Sketchfab!

Oh... The only withdrawal from Hyperwallet for my country is to a bank card. The commission for transferring funds is 7.70-23.00 USD. Sales are not going very well and these amounts are sensitive. Does anyone know if there are other deductions? For using the wallet?

If you set your country currency from Hyperwallet, it may also decrease the rate. Better to put USD for transfer.

Unfortunately this does not change the transaction fee

So I have 6.5$ in my hyperwallet and when I transfered it to my bank account it cost around 4$ in fees. Why is that can someone explain this?

Because banks and other financial institutions take fees for their service. You don't expect them to be charity organizations, don't you?

LemonadeCG is right. Banks only think for their interest. It is capitalism, you know ...

LemonadeCG yeah but that doesn't mean you can take 70-80% of the money, that's basically stealing.

By regularizing the Hyperwallet account, will the payment still go through PayPal normally? I went to set up a bank account to receive it, and the transfer fee is absurd when converting to my currency!

You can set it up to transfer to your PayPal account. There is a fee for that though.

In general, from all the previous messages from users, I understand that these actions taken by the СGT are useful only to the СGT itself, and only created difficulties for the creators of 3D content, and in some cases they are absolutely absurd. The initial consequences have already begun to appearю

Moreover, for what compelling reasons are some states missing from the list of countries?
Or maybe the CGT decided to “bend over” for political reasons? This is absolutely unacceptable!!!

You're right. We have nothing to do with political issues. We are only creators and artists.

I have taken down all of my paid 3D models from this marketplace due to the implementation of a questionable hyperwallet system by the CGT owners, rather than offering widely accepted options like Paypal, Stripe, Payoneer, etc. Additionally, they have frozen the earnings for sales BEFORE their "innovation" (still not payed out for December '23 - January '24)!!!
Now I prefer reputable marketplaces that prioritize artists' interests rather than attempting to withhold funds through covert means.

The fact that CGT has imposed us Hyperwallet as a new payment system is absolutely unfair ! It means that anyone that lives in a country in which Paypal is not supported (thus, hyperwallet) cannot receive any payment. And the worst part of that is that he cannot use another payment system. What a shame !

Still not payed out for December '23 - January '24 (even before this "hypercrysis" innovation)... This is why I said goodbye to this "marketplace". In fact they just stolen my money! A lot of great alternatives on the market.

Did anyone of you send a message to support? The first thing I would do is send an email to support, rather than posting a comment in the forum.

I'm missing my payment this week as well, but I'm sure it will get resolved soon. If it's not in by next payment period, I'd send an email to support.
