Holiday sale

Discussion started by HQ3DMOD

Hi.

Can any one tell me please where i can turn off these holiday sale discounts off?

BTW CGTrader, u can make holiday discounts -30%, 15% from sellers and 15% from CGTrader, i think it is fair enough.

How make it real? In the events product have -30% discount like right now, but users income increases by 15% and that will be fair :D

At the moment if someone from EU buys my product witch price ~100$, my earnings will be 39$ :D

100$ -30% = 70$ -20% = 56$ -2.5$ = 53.5$ -27% = 39$

*30% - holiday discount

*20% - EU buyer

27% - CGTrader

-2.5$ - PayPal fees

Holiday sale are -30% ... if you adding the european VAT (22%) and CGT commission ...

I have not problem with discount , but about european vat for me have no sense that the seller pay for it... the buyer must to pay , people that come from europe know that they have VAT almost on all product that they buy , and also for professional project the VAT is deductible...so why the seller must to pay for that?!

Just my point of view .

Cheers

CG team, I do not mind discounts, but really, the author should have the right to withdraw from participation in the action or to set self %.

HI there,

Once you go to your payment agreement page, you can see the Buyer Engagement Program checkbox, that you can switch on and off at any time you want.

Hi Guys,

A few corrections to make the arithmetic a bit more pleasant:

- Analysis show that during Black Friday sale-off, sales and revenue increased by more than 400% compared to those who didn't participate and to the sales before / after that period. It means that while the prices are 30% lower, you get 4 times more sales, which translates to 70% x 4 = 280%. In other words, if you got a sale during the holiday sales, it most likely because of the discounts. Let's be happy about it.

- When there is a discount, let's say 30%, CGTrader takes its share after that discount, which means that we do pay 30% together with you: 27% from discounted 70% = 18.9% vs normal 27% (CGT pays 8.1% from 30% in this case)

- VAT is only applicable to the non-company buyers from EU and it makes roughly 16% of all buyers. It means that on average VAT lowers revenue for sellers not by 20% but by 20% of 16% = 3.2%. Also we are considering to update the system in the near future so that VAT will not be deduced from sellers but buyers will pay it on top.

The idea of discounts is to motivate buyers to come here and buy your models where you can get 80%, which is the best royalty rate in the industry :)

CGT takes 27% commission from the discounted price, not from the initial price. In $100 and 30% discount example your royalties are: $70 - (27% x $70) = $70 - $18.9 = $51.1 Not 70$ - (27% x 100) = $70 - $27 = $43

I don't say that u take from 100% :D Where u sow that? Here was my calculation: 100$ -30% = 70$ -20% = 56$ -2.5$ = 53.5$ -27% = 39$ So explain. My product costs 100$, event price is 70$ (-30%). In the basket price for model is 70$ Cgtrader get money to paypal so after that goes paypal fees (in this place i had mistake) ~ 2.5$ Then goes VAT off (like we are now talking about EU) 67.5$ -20% = 54$ And after all fees cgtrader take his 27%. So 54$-27%=39$ (where cgt recieves 15$) This all i understand, but i don't see where you take part in it like u said. You just get lesser money because price of model i smaller. But taking part in it, it will be like i write in first post.

CG team, Explain the situation with VAT
I found the list of countries with which the Russian Federation has an agreement for the avoidance of double taxation.
http://puti-uspeha.ru/nalog-optimizacija/635-dogovory-2naloga.html
The experience of working with Turbosquid is governed by filling out the form WB-8EN
Is there a similar system in SG?

The W8-BEN is just a declaration for non US-resident . TurboSquid operates from USA , CGtrader from Lithuania (EU) so there are different rules around that... I suppose...

I do not really care how much I earn per model so long as people are buying lots of my models over this holiday season. I think I am just not getting any views on my products.

Please help promote my models more actively please!!!

Facebook is not the suitable platform for our industry. We tried many times Facebook ads and got the same very bad conversion. 3D stock buyers are professionals who look for a very specific model at a very specific time point. That's why SEO is the best way to promote your models: by building links from other websites to your models. Also do not forget the most important factor: quality of your models.

Dust, have you ever tried the Facebook Add system they have? The one where you setup a certain audience and then Facebook tries to promote you to the select group of people?

Yes but in your opinion does it work well? By using it were you able to get any extra buyers?

I have no more accurate analysis tools. I act intuitively.
Theoretically CG can make the function analysis referral link and the subsequent action of the buyer.
How it's work on TS.
I hope CGteam implement such analysis tools, in fact knowingly we have voted for the reduction % of income ;-)
