Where can I close the discounts?

Discussion started by memar-allahyarov

My models are showing a 50% discount. I don't want to sell them at a discount; where can I close it?

By the way, did this note previously appear in discounts?

Best price guarantee
You agree that the price of your models on CGTrader will be the lowest available online, with the exception of your own website. If a customer provides evidence before the purchase that your model is listed at a lower price elsewhere and requests price matching, we will adjust the price with a discount to fulfill that request.

Nope, this is new. Yet another hostile feature successfully copied from TS...

@LemonadeCG But as far as I remember, TS offers a much better royalty percentage under such conditions.

Not sure what do you mean by that? 40% at TS vs 80% CGT, did you want to say "much worse"?

This is probably something new but I have personally no problem with it. I think that 99% CGT sellers have already the best price (same price) here like on TS thanks to TS best price policy and higher CGT royalties. And I see difference that on TS they can change price of your models but here (if I understand it correctly) they can adjust the price for specific buyer but the price of the model will remain same. So other buyers (if they will not demand price matching) can buy it for higher price set by you.

As far as I remember, TS has two royalty systems (for regular and exclusive sellers). I may be wrong because they do not deal with 3D printing models, so I have nothing to do there. 80%? Well, yes, in a few years I might have 80 xD

@lasthawk, that's right, TS has exclusivity program with higher royalties, but that has nothing to do with best price guarantee enforcement. In fact if you are exclusive seller on TS your prices are by definition the best on TS, because your models can't be find anywhere else ;)

By the way, you can sell 3D print models on TS, there's no problems with that. The only limitation is that you can't sell 3D print models of branded products, because of legal issues.

@LemonadeCG, that sounds good! Last time i looked they didn't have even a category for "3d printing"

They don't have dedicated category for 3D printing, you just publish the model as usual and that's it.

@lasthawk on CGtrader you can also reach 80% without any exclusivity requirements, just by increasing your acc rating. In that case, the TS exclusivity program won't make any sense at all,and it is worth comparing the basic royalty indicators, which are not in TS's favor. IMO in general the exclusivity program does not pay for itself, it is better to work with several sites at once.
