I think the subscription-based marketplaces will have a place, but only to a certain extent.
When Kitbash3D went over to their Cargo subscription model, they met a flood of disgruntled customers (me included), and thankfully they (mostly) listened to the critique.
One thing is that the company sees an opportunity for an even flow of income, but it´s up to the customers to accept it or not.
E.g. as much as I like Andrew Price, I would never pay for a subscription to Poliigon, or any similar service - and I think many feel the same.
I don´t think the subscription-based marketplaces or BMS, Kitbash3D etc are impacting sales on CGT and similar sites much.
I think AI-generated "art" does, because when clients don´t need 3d-based illustrators as much, the 3d-illustrator don´t have the need to purchase the same amount of 3d models.
