Hi we call this marcketing, they give their models for free to get clients fidelity, then they will sell their models after.
Not bad at all
hello everyone. ı wonder about one thing. some designers upload their models tottaly free like carlos folch and sweethome3d and this is no logic about this. if lots of people upload their models tottaly free so no logic sell the models on here.

The only bad thing about that is that, customers will probably more likely to get the free ones, except if someone is searching for good quality models.
I m modeling 3d objects for 5 years, i have more than 24Go of models, i can put theme for free just for fan, but this is not the objectif of this web site! The objectif is to sell some models to help freelancer like me.
yes customers just want to get free models if you always put your models as a free
for once, I agree with you :) the number of free products should not exceed a certain ratio, for example 10% of all products published
thanks supercigale
There was a thread with a similar topic a few months ago.
There are a few reasons for making free models:
1) Like zoubier said, artists make free models to show off their skills. If people like the models, they're more likely to spend their money.
2) Sometimes people make free models to avoid copyright issues. For example, I've made some Doctor Who, Star Wars, and Buck Rogers models which I don't feel right about selling, so I give them away for free.
3) Sometimes artists release free add-ons like weapons, to help promote an existing for-sale product.
But, yes, the bottom line is that making items available for free is a form of marketing.
John hoagland do you think publish all your models as a free is good for other sellers? Because you wont sell any of your models if sellers publish their models as a free
Yeah, I definitely think it's a great way to get clients. Give samples of your work for free to show its quality and your credibility, and in turn convince people that your work is worth their money.
