DESCRIPTION

This is a detailed 3D model of the Jagdpanzer VI „Jagdtiger“ („Hunting Tiger“), a tank destroyer, used by Germany in WW2 from 1944 to 1945.

Thanks to high-resolution textures, this tank model is ready for your animations and renders.

Pipeline:

  • modeled in Blender 2.92

  • textured in Substance Painter (Metalic/Roughness and Specular/Glossiness PBR workflow available)

Topology:

Overall Poly and Vert count:

  • Polygons: 802.233

  • Vertices: 774.052

The Jagdtiger model consists of 4 objects:

  • Jagdtiger_Gun (3.173 Polygons)

  • Jagdtiger_Wheels (154.342 Polygons)

  • Jagdtiger_Tracks (474.136 Polygons)

  • Jagdtiger_Boddy (224.170 Polygons)

All objects use the same material (Jagdtiger_Material).

All objects are scaled in the metric system and according to real-life counterparts.

The model mostly consists of Quads, as seen in the preview images and has a clear topology (no artifacts, holes, overlapping polygons, etc.)

The model does not have any N-Gons in its topology.

Forward-facing axis: -Y

Up facing axis: Z

Textures/Material:

The model uses a UDIM Texture, which consists of 9 tiles. Each UDIM tile has a resolution of 4096px X 4096px

The following UDIM’s are provided:

  • Jagdtiger_Base_Color (1001-1009)

  • Jagdtiger_Metallic (1001-1009)

  • Jagdtiger_Roughness (1001-1009)

  • Jagdtiger_Diffuse (1001-1009)

  • Jagdtiger_Glossiness (1001-1009)

  • Jagdtiger_Specular (1001-1009)

  • Jagdtiger_Height (1001-1009)

  • Jagdtiger_Normal _OpenGL (1001-1009)

  • Jagdtiger_Normal _DirectX (1001-1009)

The Model has overlapping UV’s.

Both PBR workflows (Metalic/Roughness and Specular/Glossiness) are available.

Formats:

  • Blender 2.92

  • OBJ (textures need to be linked up manually)

  • FBX (textures need to be linked up manually)

Additional notes:

  • This model contains poles with more than 5 edges.

  • The model does NOT come with a rig.

  • The HDRI used for lighting the majority of this object has been provided by HDRI Heaven (HDRI Name: Liliensten by Andreas Mischok)

No unsupported objects
Unsupported objects:
- Lights
- Cameras
Learn more
Geometry
No N-gons
N-gons are polygons with five or more sides which might cause issues in certain processes like rendering or animation. Learn more
No faceted geometry
Faceted geometry uses flat surfaces without smoothing, which can look unrealistic on curves.
Learn more
Manifold geometry
Manifold geometry ensures all surfaces are properly connected, avoiding issues like edges shared by more than two faces.

Textures & material
PBR textures
PBR textures simulate how light interacts with materials, making the model look realistic under different lighting.
Required PBR textures:
- Base Color
- Roughness
- Metalness
- Normal
Learn more
No embed textures
Embedded textures are stored inside the model file, increasing its size and sometimes causing compatibility issues.
Learn more
Square textures
Texture aspect ratio is the width-to-height ratio of a texture. Expected texture aspect ratio: 1:1
Learn more
Power of 2 texture sizes
Textures with dimensions in power of two (e.g. 512x512px, 1024x1024px) are used to optimize performance and memory usage.
Learn more
Assigned materials
Materials are applied to the 3D model to allow visualize a model's surface properties and appearance.
Learn more
UVs & naming
No UV overlaps
UVs overlap when multiple points on the 3D model's surface are mapped to the same point on the UV island causing texture stretching.
Learn more
UV unwrapped model
A UV unwrapped model means its 3D surface is flattened into 2D space, allowing textures to be applied accurately.
