It was used by the French, Indonesian and Portuguese Army, and saw service in the Algerian War, the Portuguese Colonial War, as well as the Indonesia-Malaysia Confrontation, and the Sand War. This version of the Panhard EBR is equipped with a 90mm low-pressure gun for engaging armored targets, giving it the designation „Panhard EBR 90“
