Objects have non reset transforms

Discussion started by arlinkaviljoen1

Can someone please help.

I have been struggling for days now to get my model uploaded.

I keep getting the same error over and over:
Objects have non reset transforms

I did reset and freeze my transforms. The pivot is 0,0,0. The scale is in meters (during export I also selected to use meters). I tried both z and y upwards orientations.

Any help would be greatly appreachated.

Is this for wildcat?

Are you using groups? Have you checked the x-form on the main hierarchy group to ensure that's transformed at 100%?

Yes it is for wildcat. I merged all my geometry into one mesh, so I'm not using groups. I'm not sure how to check the x-form, I'm using maya if that has something to do with 3ds Max. All my transforms are frozen (they are all 0 for translation and rotation) and my scale are all set to 1 if that's what you mean by 100% transformed. This is exactly the same as my test assignment's mesh, which didn't have any problems uploading.

I have exactly the same issue. I use Maya.
I did all I can do and have contacted the support team also.
They send me some scripts for 3ds Max but occurred errors.
I even have uploaded a simple box with no transform history.
But it took the same error messages.

I don't see the error message any longer after reset Xform in Max.
(I use Maya, import the fbx that made in Maya and reset Xform in Max and export fbx)

Any other solution instead of using Max reset Xform? Maya user here. Having the same issue. Done all the above.

I have tried a lot and asked directly by email about this issue. They said that it will work by Max. All of my tries with Maya were in vain.

Try this. It worked for me.

Make sure the model is positioned with y up, and makes sure all your scales are set to 100.

So scale your model down to 0.01, freeze transforms, then scale your model up to a 100. In other words, you submit your model with x y and z all being 100. (Make sure you export it in meters as your units. When exporting from Maya, there is a setting that you can use somewhere to manually export in meters)

A year later, relevant. Thank you, you are the best. It's a shame they didn't fix this bug.

Some time ago I made a model for wildcat, I thought I had already found the "correct" way but I see that the same problem comes up over and over again. a shame

When you export your fbx make sure to tick the box that says Apply Transforms..for me it worked

Should the apply unit box over the apply transform experimental be ticked too?

I have the same problem, Reset XForm, Freeze transform and many other tries not working in 3DS Max, what should I do?!

The problem is not the reset transform, it is the scale. Check in which units you are working and which have been requested. A guide is attached to each project you do. Also check the units to which you export and the axis you are exporting z up or y up. Greetings

I did all transform which include scale, still same problem. I did check every single object in the scene,

The problem is usually the scale of the model. export your model to another scene or other software, with the measurement settings and check if the size is correct. then check if the pivot point is centered with the bounding box. Greetings

For the Blender users and model in cm scale this is the problem (probably in meters also occur). FBX in Blender have bugs.

User mmz-001 discover the problem and solution, read the instructions:
I also had this issue and found a solution after inspecting the FBX file with Autodesk FBX Converter. The issue is blender's FBX exporter is broken, and you need to adjust some settings before you export it. Here are the steps to solve this annoying problem.

1. Apply all transforms
2. Scale your model by 100x
3. Apply all transforms again.
4. Use these settings in the FBX exporter.
Scale: 0.01
Apply Scalings: All local
Forward: Y Forward
Up: Z Up
Uncheck apply unit
