Could someone advise, what should I use to fill the HUGE areas with grass, plants or other elements of nature?

Multiscatter? ForestPro? Simple Vray proxy?

What are the cons and pros?

Forest Pack Pro is my favourite. But this is mainly due to the fact that I use Maxwell Render. If you use Vray I would take a look at MultiScatter. FFP 4 is very stable in my experience and has a lot of features, plus the most important: it is under permanent devolopment.
