As I am new to this website, I would like to ask about how how payment works on CGTrader, I would like to know how can I get paid, and whether or not I can receive payments before I link my paypal account, but after I list items ?

I was at your position before one and half year before,
here are some points...
1.) you can add models without linking any payment method.
2.) if your model get sold for, the amount remain after subtracting process fees and royalty will be saved on your CGtrader profile.
3.) Once you have verified your Payment then 20th of next month you will got paid through your verified payment system. (Wire Transfer may delay for a week ) I prefer Paypal.
4.) Then you can transfer from Paypal to bank.

After creating your account to receive your earnings, you need sign the Payment Agreement. To do it, log in to your account, go to settings and select PAYMENT AGREEMENT. There you can attach your document and fill out the form and wait for it to be verified.

Once you will get your Payment agreement verified, collected royalties will be paid until the 20th day of the following month. For example, royalties collected over January are paid until the 20th day of February.

However, to answer your original question, you can sell you models even before you fill payment agreement - all your earned money will accumulate until your payment agreement is completed and verified.

Regarding the royalty rate, it depends on you. It ranges from 70 to 80 percent. As a new user, you will have a 70% royalty rate, but it can be easily increased by collecting reputation points.
