That’s strange, when I upload new stuff I usually see it move a bit when it starts piking up views, but then it gets sold and it suddenly moves mush faster (something like 2 pages). I also notice sometimes a backward trend when some item doe not get sales for longer period, probably others then get some more sales and then my stuff moves back in favor for them.
So it seems to me like some sort of constant battle is going on and items need a certain frequency of sales depending on how mush competition it has (in order to stay in place).
I do not know in detail what is exact driving factors but it probably is combination of views, positive feedback from clients, reputation score, etc.
This page is hinting at the driving factors (https://www.cgtrader.com/reputation)
So it seems everything counts to get you a global rank as a designer. Probably a series of computer algorithms is calculating all these factors and give designers a score that influences his position. The goal of those algorithms is most likely to predict best candidates that potentially drive sales.
Ps: how mush did you pay for your model?
I assume if its a small amount it has small effect, for example someone that sells one model for 100 dollars that will have more effect then someone selling a model 6 times for 10 dollars.
Some people use strange strategies to try get in good position, for example some just upload lots of models (pointless models) because uploading models get you 20 points per model. In the end they cannot compete against anyone because they get no views or sales and end up in the back and trow away own time.
Just put lots of efforts in everything and keep looking for best solutions to problems and cut no corners, I believe its best thing to do and that it all contributes to growing and brighter future.
Take time to drive traffic and get lots of views to your pages, respond almost immediately to all messages and have no limits in how far you need to go to get clients 100% satisfied and consistently get positive feedback from them.
Just do everything right and everything is going to be fine, cutting corners is going to make one sad because its just lost time and missed opportunity for growing.
