Single Product upgrade to Collection

Discussion started by Polygonal-Miniatures

Hi CGT'ers

I ran into an issue a couple of days ago and like to discuss the following:

When a customer purchases a collection of items, chances are that a singe item was bought previously.

The customer pays twice for the same product.

To prevent this, can we have an option to upgrade a single item to a collection? Or a way to check for previously purchased products when a collection is purchased?

If this is the case then, a pre-set amount can be subtracted from the bundle price. Not the single item price off course, because collections are usually cheaper.

This feature is implemented in Unity Asset Store. Really need it here too ;)

Anyone else ran into this? What are your thoughts?

Have a nice evening,

Mark

I don't see a problem here, if buyer had already bought single product from collection and he feels that he should be discounted for that, he can always use make offer button. Also there is possibility to contact with seller directly and explain situation. It's not turbosquid where everybody are isolated from each other. Here communication is encouraged and good communication can solve almost any problems.

I certainly wouldn't want that system automatically would adjust price of my collections, no matter what reasons. I think such cases are rare enough to be handled manually without much trouble.

True that.

Well, that's exactly how I solved it, directly with customer. It's still a good way to upsell...

That's why there is an offer option here ;) Buyer can talk to you to discount it from final price

I've disabled it... I'll re-consider :)

Many sellers turn off make offer button, because they had negative experience with it in the past, when buyers shamelessly offer ridiculuously low prices for models. I had few such offers myself, but since cgtrader's discount program introduction, i noticed that amount of offers significantly decreased, so it may be worth to turn it back on for a cases mentioned in your first post.
