Please do something about the spam

That's a terrible idea. There's plenty of trash users who will go and report every single thread just to get some reputation points, so they could freeload few more models.

Are you serious? So it's users' duty to fight the spam, not the forum owner's? Yes, spam is disappearing, but just because i constantly pressing that damn button (only today i reported like 10 posts), so don't f*king tell me how easy it is.

Of course I'm serious, given that CGTrader is still the best platform for selling 3D in terms of royalty rates, ease of uploading content etc. The support team is the best in its field and I am absolutely sure that they aren't wasting their time and solving much more complex issues than deleting spam. With regards to the IT team, I'm sure that in the future they will find an effective way to solve the spam issues, but until this method is not found, users should help keep the forum clean. I don't see anything shameful or wrong in this.

I have nothing against cgt support team, they're really doing their job well, react to requests quickly and so on. On the other hand, their IT team is one of the worst i've ever see, the site is fundamentally broken in many ways and they do nothing about it for years. The pace of developement is virtually non existant. It's not rocket science to eliminate most of the spam, or at least make it so that it doesn't reach the regular user's eyes before it will be cleaned by responsible people. I was doing forum moderation for many years and i know that already 15 years ago there was very effective methods to filter spam from reaching the public. It is unacceptable that "best in the business" site lets its customers to be bombarded by constant stream of spam.

If we are talking about IPB or vBulletin, yes, even 15 years ago, the ability to quickly remove spam was already introduced there. But if the forum engine is not a finished product, but self-written code, many tasks can become more difficult to implement. Considering traffic, database load, and integration with the marketplace, the complexity increases even more. CGT IT team is no worse than that of its competitors (which, by the way, practically don't exist). In any case, I don’t remember a marketplace of the same level with a forum without spam, blog, gallery and the same number of models and designers.

I'd have to agree with LemonadeCG. A website as well regarded as CGTrader really should have a better way of weeding out nuisance postings. It shouldn't be up to the members to constantly report the same spamming users over and over again.

I don't agree with the reproaches and assessment of the work of the IT team and CGTrader as a company. Seriously? In my opinion, everything is in order with the IT team, both in terms of speed and skills. For example, when in the blog section there was a problem with the display of blocks on the right, the problem was solved almost immediately after contacting support. When there were problems with the dashboard, similarly, everything was fixed very quickly. There are some controversial points regarding the placement of certain elements of the site, etc., but again, against the background of other marketplaces, CGTrader is still the leader. For example, yes, there are no keto-gummies on the Envato forum, but I think for everyone who has been in the industry for a long time it is obvious that 3docean is more like a living corpse than a marketplace. Who else? Turbosquid? In which for years the user panel, and model uploader, in its design and speed such remember the times of Windows 3.1.x for Workgroups. 3ddd? Where there is a very active forum and there is no spam, but for all models the price is the same and maximal lowest at all 3d industry, while your models can check for weeks and even months and the size of the uploaded archive cannot exceed 150mb. What other examples? Cubebrush? Renderhub may have some positive potential, but at the moment there are only a little over 90000 models. And with all this, the worst IT team, of course, is with CGTrader ^_^, CGTrader always thinks only about his own benefit and they do not care about their users and fuckin spam.

Yes. LemonadeCG was overly critical of the IT Team, but I'm sure there are easier ways to implement a secure new member management system that will not have to result in the complete overhaul of the website. I'm assuming that storage management is probably the most critical aspect of this websites IT responsibilities, but it doesn't mean that all other tasks get put to the bottom of the to-do list. I also understand that when the website or part of the services are down, it means lost revenue. Eventually, I'm sure that most of the critical problems will be solved. But it will never be soon enough for some people. For now, the problem of spam is mitigated by the forum members reporting it, but if it gets worse, less members will participate in the forum discussions, or even visit.
