Make an offer issues

Discussion started by spankedmonkey82

Making an offer for a model on my phone the site says "

Make offer

Enter the price at which you would be willing to purchase this product ant write a comment if you wish so."

First off there is a typo, ant. Secondly write a comment if I wish, I had no choice but to put a letter there as if the box is blank the offer won't send. Third and finally, I was told offer must be maximum of half the models original(pre sale) price, instead of maximum, you mean minimum. Hope that's of help! :)

So, we just tested this out. i made a price offer bigger then 50 % and i was not allowed to proceed. (i offered 2 $ for a model that is priced at 9 $) But after i made an offer of 5 $ (for a 9 $ model) i was allowed to make an offer after i typed in a message.

I turned off that feature right from the start.
The majority of 3D models prices are extremely low on CGT already, it feels kind of insulting to haggle.

I have turned it on, since i'm not participating in other cgtrader's discount programs. I feel that it's fair to let customers negotiate the price if they want to. It doesn't hurt my earnings much, i didn't made calculations, but out of my head i'd say only about 5% of customers do use the offer option. Out of those 5%, the wast majority goes with the maximum allowed 50% offer, which i never accept and instead make a counter-offer of 30%. About 25-30% of offers do materialize into sale. I can't know how many of those who buys through offered price would buy the model at full price if i would not allow negotiation, but even if it would be 100% i think i would still keep this option available. Sometimes it's nice to do good deeds :]

Cool :) That means that 95% of the clients do feel it's a shame to haggle! I suspected that all these constant discounts offers had brought here mainly cheap deal seekers and it's really nice to know that the majority are serious customers.

Most of the offers are made for my cheapest models and especially those that does not materialize into sale after i decline 50% deal. People who buys my moderately priced or expensive models, they usually do not bother with price offers and pays full price. I think that's a good indication that my models are not too highly priced, it's just there are people who always feels hard to part with their money and i can't blame them :]

Just don't make price offers :)))) Because most of "unter-buyers" every time are asking about ca 50% discount or more and sending hilarious shit like "If you can sell me model with this price and if you models are good, (MAYBE) I will buy more later (need to be readed as NEVER)"... Price offer for already selling models is just disrespect to modellers work and job.
And I'm giving discounts. But not bigger than CGT standard values (15-30%)
