CGTrader updates: Required Comment addition to model ratings

Discussion started by eduardas

Hi everyone,

I wanted to let you know about the latest update on CGTrader platform. We've added the mandatory (necessary) request to leave a comment on the model when leaving a negative rating, and optional choice to either leave a note or don't when leaving a positive feedback.

Once the model is rated, designer will receive a personal message with the rating and comment, and will have a chance to quickly get in touch with the customer - and convert the negative rating into a positive one by simply providing the help required.

As always, if you have any notes or suggestions you'd like to make, leave them in the comments below or by dropping me a little personal message.

Cheers!
Eddie, CGTrader

That is a very welcome move! Does comments will be visible publicly or just for seller of the model?

They won't be visible for everyone at the moment, but I can't say the same for the future.

Allright, let's hope this will be improved in the future then - publicly visible feedback from buyers would be more meaningful.

Additional option could be to have 5 - 10 pre prepared answers that customers just click, for the comment closest to the result of the transaction.

Well worded options may help customer be more complimentary.

Answers could obviously be easily sorted to prioritize support responses.

One thing does not make much sense to me. If buyer gives you positive rating, you have to reply him, and fast, to maintain good response rate / response time. Is it really necessary? If someone buys multiple models from you and gives you multiple positive ratings you have to reply to all his ratings.
Also one buyer basically written a simple review of my model because he obviously thought it will be visible somewhere as a comment. Which makes much more sense than sending some positive message to seller. I think it is slightly confusing right now.

I think you're confusing something, one doesn't have to and in fact can't reply to buyer ratings, positive or negative. Response rate/time shows how promptly user responds to personal messages.

Reread Eduardas second paragraph and look at the picture. I already had to reply three times.

hi IndieArt, Thanks for pointing that out - we'll be tweaking the response rate and time calculation logic to keep user's response rates intact.

Oh sorry, i take my words back. Didn't know that ratings now are tied with PMs. Just received positive rating with comment and indeed i had to respond to it to keep my responce rate at 100%. I agree that this is unnecessary. Hopefully it will be improved soon.

Don't know if this is bug related to new changes or just single fluke, but i received positive rating today, but it doesn't reflect in my overall ratings count.

I also had two positive ratings (messages) from one buyer, but only one showed in ratings count and notifications. I thought that he maybe changed his mind and "took it back" (if is it possible).

Hi guys,

The both the feedback count and response rate were fixed - we noticed there was a little bug regarding feedbacks and fixed that issue, and we've removed the positive feedback emails from those that count in response rate/time.

Oops, sorry, we will remove them from response rate on Monday! The task still needs code review.
