Automatcally extension recognition?

Discussion started by Exact-3D

Hi!
I always upload my models in archive files. Previously it was RAR. But Users from some countries do not use it. So I started to upload my models in ZIP.

It is convenient, it saves space. Unlike batch uploading single upload does not recognize file extension inside archive. In my case they are STL and 3DM.

May be it is good idea to create file naming convention - "File name STL.zip", "File name 3DM.zip", "File name FBX.zip", "File name OBJ.zip" etc...
So last three letters will help system to recognize what is inside?

Your proposed naming convention is useful for end-user, so it's wise to use it anyway. As for the system, there's no reason why it shouldn't be able to recognise file formats inside archive, it works on other marketplaces, so it should on cgtrader too. It's just a matter of will from cgtrader to implement it.

Of course, I use it - it is very convenient: always know what is it. It is not very time consuming to choose what is it during uploading process. But such features make this process easyer.

CGT have the file recognition implemented in the batch upload, so they have the know-how.
They just need to implement it in the single upload interface, but they probably don't consider this as important.
Most likely, because you can also use the batch upload for single products too.
