Working to make the 3D art creation process easier.

Discussion started by nixarts

Hey everyone,

I've been trying to make the process of creating 3D Projects (Modelling, sculpting, animations, ArchVis, etc.) easier and simpler for everyone in general. However, in order to do that I will need the feedback and the opinions of all of you. If everyone could talk about or just mention the problems and issues that make the workflow long, irritating, repetitive, etc. then we can all work together to make it more easier and fun.

So, an open ended question: What in your opinion do you think is necessary to make the process of creating 3D art easier for you?

Thank you.

Didn't you already create a thread the other day about this? Regardless here's some things that come to mind.

I think your best asking in forums and websites where artists are looking for content. I would also advise you take the initiative to see the common things people are asking already, what problems they have, what things they cant find online etc. There is lots of content that can be created to automate or make things easier for artists. That's why these assets are for sale, people wouldn't buy them if they didn't bring them value or time saved.

The issue with this thread is that you are asking people who have worked hard and built their business/side hustle by either experimentation, trial/error, or simply lots of research. Imagine if you had a successful bakery and someone builds a bakery across the road, comes into your business and asks you whats your best selling product? You probably wouldn't want to share that information otherwise their bakery might start taking your customers. We are all here to help each other but keep in mind you need to do the leg work and what works for someone else might not work for you so I highly suggest you just start creating, do things you are good at or enjoy doing. You haven't uploaded 1 model yet so get to it.

Yeah I had, but there was an issue with other one. When I had tried editing it, I accidently created a new one. As for your feedback, thank you for the advice, I will keep it in mind. It also makes sense. my approach to this is a little off. I hadn't looked at this in the angle that you suggested.

Nixarts, may I ask who you are, what you are doing and why you post this thread?
Are you a modeller your self? Are you working in the 3d industry? Are you a software developer? In what way do you want to help. With tutorials, give advices in this thread or something else?
You question is a bit unusual and my curiosity is easily triggered.

I myself am a 3D modeler and I also write code in my free time. I haven't figured out in what way I will help the community, because I don't fully know in what way I can help. But I can do things all the way from tutorials or advice to add-ons and full blown software.

My suggestion, to make it enjoyable and sustainable as a business, always order in your workflow...

1. Deep understanding on the request or objective of the model. What is needed, expected, platform of use, formats to deliver.
2. Deep understanding on the geometry to use or to develop
3. List of steps to review / mark as finished.
4. Documenting/ spec sheet for later promotion of the project (Quick Screenshots, draft renderings, etc)

IT IS ALWAYS EASIER WHEN ALL IS CLEAR AND YOU DON´T REPEAT ANY STEP

Hope this will help you
