Promoting CGtrader

Discussion started by iterateCGI

Hello CGtrader members, a while ago we had several discussions on promoting CGt.

It was clear a lot of us want CGt to be the biggest selling place on the net.
However, I see allot of us are also on Turbosquid (that includes me).

Now promoting one service while having your work on another is kind of hypocritical, but having your work up here for the same price,... how is that going to make any difference?

You know it's all of us (the ones hoe post work on Ts) hoe are keeping that place on top.
At least we can make "some" difference leveraging the better royalty's here to make a slightly better offer here.

Don't you agree?

That's why all my prices here are 15% below the ones I have on TS.

Glad to hear captainmarlowe, jet there are still lots of people hoe don't use the difference to make a distinction between these two places.

Frankly speaking, CGt team delivers outstanding competitive service (dirt cheap), we could promote and back it up with competitive prices (otherwise how could the best win)?

Completely agreed with you. Not only it is cheap, but I also appreciate their listening of our suggestions.

I stopped using my TS account a while back (just an empty account now). Apart from all the known downsides of using TS, one of my reasons was I seemed to be spending so much time with administration of different accounts, so I decided to go with what I thought was the best. As things appear to be improving all the time on CGTrader I hope to eventually make all my stuff exclusive to CGTrader. Also, all my links on YouTube have been changed to CGTrader.

Forgot to mention, it wont include my small amount of 3d printed stuff which isn't on here and which I keep separate.

On the other hand, when I joined CGTrader, there was some really cool promotionnal stuff available, which suddenly stopped to work or disappeared. At least links and banners should be available. Or I missed something.

There is another important argument to make for making competitive difference.
If you don't make competitive difference you may actually lose allot of money.

For those hoe also have an account on Ts, keep in mind that you may actually sell almost noting over here when your models are priced the same as on Ts.

Argument; When a regular Ts client (80 to 90% of total) discovers your model on Ts (considers it best offer up there) but is not really sure it's the best offer on the net, he will alternatively try to find some more similar models somewhere ells to get more comparisons. 8 out of 10 customers up here are these alternative searchers, so when they maybe find no better offer up here but instead only the same offer for same price, they will in this case see no reason to waste additional time to make an account and use the account they already have on Ts.

In this case you will actually lose allot of money by diverting these potential customers back to Ts where you will give away a 60% cut.
