New model page or use the present one ?

Discussion started by Blender-Arcturus

I have been upgrading one of my 3D models which is already in sale. I am planning to discard the present 3D model files and only sale the updated version. Should I just make a new 3D model page for the updated version and delete the present one or should I edit the present product page, name and upload new images, files. The current product has some comments and 500+views. Which method would be better to maximize visibility of my product and possibility of a sale ? Does it make a difference ?

It's up to you to decide, do you want to share the new updated model for free with customers that already bought the old one, or the new updated one is better/updated enough that can be sold as new product. Some sellers leave old as it is and upload updated one as new product with bigger price tag.

I would update the current model & price/description. This way customers who have already purchased that model will be alerted to a new download and they can use the latest version. Obviously if the new model is 'better' then future reviews will be even better. Again personal choice as @PhantomG mentioned.

One month ago I updated one of my models with newer (improved) one. This was because I realised I made some mistakes on the old model. No buyer complained about the model but it still bothered me. I added new model to the same page and edited the description to explain the buyers which model should be used.
Now, if your first model was ok and your second model is even better, you can leave the old model and create new page for new model with different price.
If you also realized that the old model has some "mistakes" and you just want to offer improved version of it, then I see no reason for creating a new page.
After all, it's up to you.
