Has anyone be able to sell or buy a model up to 100$ in the site?

Discussion started by AH-CG

I have this questions that's been going around for a while. That a lot of 3d models are super cheap here, like it has become a standard now? But have you paid or sell a model for up to 100$? How many times have you? It still a good option to have that price no matter how good it looks, and how much formats are available for it? Thanks.

What is the use of this information? Of course, yes, but why should someone tell how much he spends and earns.

for us beginners it is good to get pointers from you guys, if you are nice decent people and like to help others you help, if not you respond in other ways, it is just human nature to ask for help on any subject including the economics of this gig. If your fear is that we might get good enough to detract from your business then that just shows a slight bit of over-greed. In my most humble opinion if i was in your position i would try to help because i landed here looking for information on the economics of this gig. I want to learn, and a technical designer and engineer in real life and i recently took this as a side gig because believe it or not regardless of the fancy tittle i get paid garbage money and i live in FLORIDA USA so i need this thing to also begin to work for me. So how about you help us not whips us?

Analytics tools, list of designers and model search are at your service. Search, analyze and study.

thank you sir(more on that below) yOU ARE ONE TOUGH ONE, I like it man, yes you are right that is the right way to do it, i myself have a list of books and stuff coming in droves from amazon just to absorb raw knowledge, i research a lot and i have come a long way in this whole CGI stuff,( my background helps a little) But for example, my case, I am struggling hard in the economy dude, i need to start selling models yesterday. i have been doing 3d modeling for literally 3 months and only a couple of days ago did i dare upload my first model Luckily i don't like to do half a** work. I fully absorbed 3 books on different aspects of blender to 100% knowledge in 2 months, a 6 month course if you take it in school and i did that out of necessity. I personally look at you masters of the art in great esteem and i would love to work even for you just to absorb that knowledge and one day be as good and a competition to you. In that sense you would actually be proud of me when I sold things. HOWEVER knowing now your nature as far as this subject goes i know and I thank you for the answer you gave me because now i know how to research what is selling and what is not selling.

It depends on the model, or the collection, I have some models that are sold for 125 even for 150 some collections.

Of course this has been after 4 years working in the store, updating models and uploading new ones... and better ones

good brick in your opinion what is better, doing fantasy character packs or tech and weapons stuff. I have a background in technical design and materials engineering, but i can't do the whole sculpting thing for the life of me...I mean i can do a potato with eyes but that is as far as i get sculpting. However when it comes to machines i can design well. So i guess my question is, am I doomed here or is there some hope for sales? I need to know if my skill-set is what is popping right now or is it the artsy fancy sculpting stuff i cannot do?

Trying to do something without required skills just because it's something that maybe sells better is a bad choice. With regards to your current models. There is not a single more or less normal render, but there is more than a strange description. If you think that such text can make the product more attractive to buy, you are mistaken.

As Jaguar tells you to create something just because it sells is not a good idea, it will demotivate you and it will probably take a long time to do so you will have to sell a lot to make up for it. Even so, looking at your models, I'm sure you can find something you like in the "Analytics" section, one of the most purchased things here are trucks and ships, you can start there.
