Free models - is there any reason?

Discussion started by tssrkt

Good day, dear cgtraders :)

Can anyone share his\her experience with uploading free 3D models?

Is there any reason to upload so kind of stuff? Will it rise sales?

For example, I have uploaded some free stuff here:

https://www.cgtrader.com/tssrkt (click "free 3d models" to see it).

What do you think?

And I still hope CGTrader will have statistics to see how much were downloaded my free 3D models.

Thank you.

I have noticed the statistics generated by "gctrader" of my models and I have never seen that those who buy my models downloaded one of my free models before (which are the most downloaded without a doubt) that should work in that way , why is it supposed to have free models, that users check the quality of your models before buying ...

Mmmh actually when I put a model on 3D it's because it is not totally achieved or I won't get it to a nice price so I think people would not be judging us from free 3d models

My free models are fully "achieved." Post them for two reasons.

One, to demonstrate the quality of models that can be used for architecture renders or advertising. Architects and advertising artists demand photorealism in their plants and buildings, but not typically for water fountains and such. If you want photorealism in your vegetation, why don't you want it in your water fountains?

Two, because the things I make (Realflow liquids) are uncommon. Lots of people who could not pay much for models, also do not have decent access to liquids. So, in the spirit of community, we all should share a little, yes?

Perhaps you should download and check out one of the free water models, maybe the entire fountain. Ratings here are kind of a quirky business for someone who has only been on the site for a month or so. And, your comment maybe misses the main point of mine. (Or, are you wanting all of us to post only the poor-quality models for free?)

Are you talking about me when you say "someone who has only been on the site for a month or so" ? And everybody choose how they want to upload their free models, sometimes you just don't want to take 30 minutes to make a presentation so it's more relax to upload a free one.

Good, a decent answer. Was talking about myself, with respect to the vendor newbie status.
