Disappearing models

Discussion started by kanistrastudio

Some of my models have disappeared (two last models - police and taxi car).

Is this a bug or something I did not right?

Are they banned?
I saw a lot of fords (mustangs, escorts, raptors) in the store.

In any case - I'm ready to agree, if there is clarity in this matter (I can always make a generic modification).

Удали лого и бренды, поговори с командой. Хоть будут шансы продавать модель нонейм.

I created this topic to get an answer from the team. I want to know exactly what can I do and what is forbidden. Just hiding the model without explaining the reasons is not the best way.

I'm no means angry, I understand that the cgtrader must exist in the legal field and protect himself and sellers from the claims.

But I would very much like to clarify some points that seem to me fair -

1) Notify the seller about the model ban (maybe I missed, correct me, that I would be more attentive next time). In any case - with me this is not the first time and I accidentally discovered the loss of the model.

2) Be consistent. Now I see a lot of Ford models in the store.

It's unlikely that you would get a list of forbiden models here, but if i were you, i wouldn't invest too much time in modelling cars of brands like ford, ferrari or bmw ;]

And i completely agree about consistency. One of my good selling branded model was removed on reasons of complaint from IP owners, but other sellers has successfully selling their models of the same brand till this day. At very least it feels unfair.

Hi there,

Apologies you were not notified in time.

I would like to inform you that Ford models are no longer available on CGTrader due to a copyright claim.
Apologies for any inconvenience.

Best regards,
Vaida, CG Trader Support

Thank You for response.

I would like to know in more detail how the process of making decisions about the removal of models from the store is arranged.

Is this the whole store decision or the response to the complaint from the IP holder?
The fact is that I want to continue to do car modeling, of course on a legal basis.

I will do generic models (like doing in games in ubisoft and rockstar), but I would like to have a dialogue on such issue (as far as possible), and not just delete the model unilaterally. I am convinced that in this way we will be able to make the store only better. Generic transport should be in demand by buyers, but there is no desire to play Russian roulette with each new model.

Will the decision to remove the model be more likely to have a discussion if the artist does not use the obvious IP (logos, nameplates, titles and titles)?

Hi. Generic, stock or concept 3D models have very little chance of being removed from marketplace unless it is stolen, too sexual or violent. In this case, it was a result of takedown notice from IP holder. From a legal standpoint, dealing with situations like this is urgent matter and since we are dealing with a large number of copyrighted models, notifications regarding removed products can be delayed. However, we are constantly improving our processes and should avoid any similar misunderstandings in the future. All the best, Mantas.
