Decrease in sales in recent months.

Discussion started by Blissbasket

Hello,

CGtrader Family,

I want to know that, Is it just with me or its happening with other sellers too, that in recent months mostly after March, I'm witnessing a gradual decrease in sales despite of Sales organised by CGtrader.

What could be the possible reason behind it ?

It is no secret that there is a crisis (recession) all around the world.
And online 3d industry is also affected. What is the exact mechanisms I dont know, maybe people (companies) have less real money (also because of huge inflation) so they are less buying 3d models. On the other site 3D models are cheaper now because no 3D designers are increasing their prices to incorporate inflation into their prices. What a paradox, other bussinesses like gastro etc. are increasing their prices. So our real earnings are even lower only because inflation.
But I personally must say that recent months were not so bad for me here on CGT.

Doesn't anybody watch the news, listen to the radio or even browse websites that have news links? How can you NOT know what is happening in the world today? The global economy is affected by the slightest change in politics, people, weather and even events in the solar system. Every little flutter in anything can have huge ramifications in any industry.

There are indeed problems in the world (there has always bin and will always be) but progress kept going. In fact progress will continue to accelerate faster and faster (exponentially). Don't worry progress will stall, worry about how you are going to keep up with it.

The world is now on the brink of a large scale war. Even the Cuban Missile Crisis didn't have every country on edge. The only progress that will ensue is the build up of arms. No game development, no 3d printing, no virtual areas on Facebook. I sincerely hope that it doesn't get to that, but its difficult to be optimistic when things are a"progressively" getting worse.

We can do all this here (not so worse things) because of the internet, this internet however came out of the war habits of humans. So you see, if it does not kill us it will make us stronger. I will always be optimistic right up to the end ;-) We are growing into the next steps of evolution but unfortunately its a messy process.

The whole world have the crisis. It's obvious. But watching on the CGtrader account on the LinkedIn and analyzing their information I see very important changes: CGtrader has decreased their employees at first. It explains all glitches an problems of the last times (probably the tachnicians and programmers were fired but "air traders" aka managers/ HR's/PR's were intact). And second very important fact: CGtrader is in the partners deal with Meta. So it's not the wander. CGT prefers to suck Zuckerbergs $$$ tit instead on focusing on the promotion and developing their own model trading business.

It's just my personal impression and my own opinion.

Well, in any case CGTrader remains CGTrader without additional signatures like by Shutterstock, Adobe, Maxon or Autodesk :) so it's not all that bad.

@jaguarbeastproduction Yes. You're right. I hope CGT will stand independent and will return to it's designer-oriented focus.

I’m witnessing normal fluctuations on my account, March and May was maybe a bit lower then usual, for the rest things look normal to me.

But if everything is OK or normal why we are seeing so extremely frequent up to 70% Sales? It was never before - every month minimally 1x 70% Sale. Why if there are only normal fluctuations? For me personally 70% discount is act (evidence) that things are not good. In previous years there was no need to do it. 70% discount was very special and rare but recently it became standard and normal. It gives no sense if everything would be as usual.

You're Right... I hope things get better.. But I'm also agree with zabotlama's point of view, this 70% off sales became very frequent from past months.

@zabotlama, in discount rate page in your settings it is written that super sales (the ones with up to 70% discount rate) are organized only on special occasions, like black friday, or some milestone. Apparently every other week is a special occasion now. Milestone of new level of despair maybe?
