Just want to bump this. Hard to believe nobody in this community has any helpful input...
Hello - following is a copy/paste of an email I'd sent to the help desk at CGTrader. They didn't have an answer, and instead suggested I "contact the seller" with any questions. With so many sellers on here, that could take a long time, so I pose my issue here first. Thank you.
"I absolutely love the enormous variety of content available at CGTrader, though I have a serious problem communicating my needs to vendors. You see, I unfortunately learned and use a platform that is somewhat of a joke in the x/y/z modelling world: Poser [currently v13+]. It was way too late when I realized I had spent so much time trying to master this, but now am mostly stuck with it.
I can import and use certain things available through CGTrader, which would include a basic OBJ file [occasionally needs to be extracted from a MTL file, iirc], and some texture files, but very often these models are not rigged for flexibility within Poser, and the textures are difficult to edit.
I know it's too much to ask for creators to modify things they make in order to please one person out here who uses a ridiculous modelling platform, but I would buy literally hundreds if not thousands worth of product if I can only get things working properly on my end. I'm not the most technically adept at this kind of thing, as I'm much more on the art side, but can follow clear instructions.
Most things for use in Poser follow this kind of file tree organization [most contain PNGs for Poser's GUI Library browser]:
[*EDIT: I am not asking for the following file structure to be created for anything I buy at CGTrader, but simply post this as an example of what's going on under the hood in Poser 13.]
Geometries: OBJ files
Textures: JPG or PNG files
Character: CR2 files, [occasionally XMP - for DAZ though?]
Light: LT2 files
Materials: MC6 files, occasional MT5 files
Morphs: All PZ2 files
Pose: PZ2 files
Props: PP2 files
For human figures only:
Face: FC2 files
Hair [usually under the 'Figure' tab in GUI Library, but there is a 'Hair' tab also]: HR2 files
Hand: HD2 file"
