Cgtrader discount not honoured

Discussion started by flipnormal

Last night I made an offer to a seller, which he agreed to, and purchased two of his models. I wanted to take advantage of the discount code which would have saved me $100 on the purchase. The saving showed up on the invoice but not on the total. As there was no one available for chat at the time for me to query this, I took screenshots and proceeded with the purchase, assuming the matter would be cleared up when someone was available for chat and the discount would be honoured and my money reimbursed.

Having been on chat today with a Cgtrader rep I am informed that they are sorry but the discount is not available if I have *also* made an offer to a seller. The best they can do is give me the discount on a later purchase.

This to me seems unacceptable. I acted in good faith and nowhere was this condition made clear. I'm also working to a tight budget and factored the savings into my decision to purchase. My dealings with the seller were perfect and professional, my dealings with cgtrader were not, and for a first time customer somewhat of a warning about their approach to business.

Thanks for your reply Eddie. I'm still waiting to hear from someone at CGTrader regarding this though.

Any chance I'm going to be hearing from anyone then? It's been a few days and I need to start exploring my options.
