BDSM accessories are legal to sell on CGTrader?

Discussion started by IsolatedSoulStudio

I did a quick search on CGTrader, and I think this category is very unpopulated, so I am thinking of doing some stuff in this category(bondage, cage etc.). This is illegal? Do I have to mark it with Mature content, or just upload it like regular stuff? Very sorry for my English.

I don't know if CGT would allow it, but if they do then for certain it would need to be marked as Mature content and you would need to await a review and approval from the Support team. You can upload the product just like any other product, but you must mark it as mature, and then wait to see if it gets approved. There is nothing "illegal" about BDSM type products at all, but certain things may be considered "obscene" or distasteful enough for CGT to reject the product.

Good luck. It will depend on how explicit the product is if it will get approved, but it will almost certainly be flagged as a mature product. I have a VDM brush set that I created for Zbrush which is for creating realistic female breasts and nipples on characters. Due to the nature of the previews and such, it was approved but does have the mature flag on it. Even though I'd consider it more anatomical or biological than adult-oriented, I do understand why it has to be that way.

And how salable it is? I am thinking the negative effect of mature flag.

The only problem with a mature flag is that the preview thumbnail is blocked out. So a client will actually need to click into the product page to see what it looks like, but if they're interested in that category they would have probably clicked on it anyway. I don't have any evidence that the mature flag hurt sales, because the product has only been active for about a month now and I only have 1 sale of it so far. I don't feel like it made a difference either way. I really didn't expect a sale this quickly, to be honest. I thought maybe I'd get a few sales a year from it, but so far it looks like it could surprise me. In fact, there is an argument to be made that perhaps it stirs "curiosity" in the viewer and promotes even more views, which may translate into sales? Again, I have no real evidence backing that up either. Just theory and speculation.

I uploaded a St. Andrew's cross, but it was suspended because contains adult or violent content:\ I don't agree so I will write a message to staff.
