Hey,

What are your tools of choice for creating models for sale and why?

Also how do you guys render stills for those products?

Let's see what's most popular here.

I'm currently using blender for modeling. Sometimes substance for texturing but only for private use and trying marmoset and keyshot for fast product renders.

Cheers

I work with Microstation, because that's the software we use in school.
I don't have any rendering programmes, everything that appears on my page is a product of modeling and rendering in microstation. I think it's not the perfect software, but because of the fact that we need it in our school I can have it for free!

Regards,
Christoph

No, I haven't tried blender yet. I'm also working with microstation because I want to make the matura in geometry too and so it will be amazing when I know more features than my teacher does - which is already happenning :D At the time, I'm buildig a bumper car with Microstation - poly by poly and subdivide it then. Do you think that Blender is better for such "organic" modeling poly by poly is? And - which files can be exported in blender? Thanks, Christoph

I've never heard of Microstation so can't say if blender is better or worse. It's free and many people find it really good to work with.
