What platform do you use to manage and organize all your 3D assets?

Discussion started by sam-982d38

I wanted to see what platforms are out there that you all use to manage your 3D assets. Which one do you use and why do you recommend it? I would love one place to manage my 3D assets easily and for it to be simple.

LOL. No use overcomplicating what works.

But with so many files it can get messy. I was looking into echo3D since they manage 3D assets. What do you use to convert your 3D files to different formats like if I wanted to have an iOS & Android app since they don't use the same 3D file formats? I saw echo3D coverts and compresses the files automatically. Any other suggestions? I'm new to this.

Sam, if you can't organize something, then anything can go messy. I'm too old to trust and use cloud services. iOS and Android? For what? If customer wants to see model on his gadget, it's her wish and problem which app he will use to operate files. Also for conversion: I'm converting my files using available software using commands "Save as" or "Export". Less side services, less marketing shit, less expenses, less headache, less bloatware.

or you just want to promote echo3d? Looking at their official web site I don't see any reasons to use this tools or services. At least for my workflow.

In any 3D editor you can easily manage your assets. Cloud services may be relevant for companies, studios, stores and teams in which there is a continuous exchange of files in huge quantities, but why is it for one user?
