Searching by more than one tag...

Discussion started by Exact-3D

I am surprised to see that a search by two or more words is useless. May be it is only with me? For example, I thought that more keywords narrowed the search. But no: here is an example of a search using two keywords "mason" and "ring". Let's imagine I would like to buy such one.
I did not find this model on the first page of the results:
https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/jewelry/rings/masonic-ring-c780d9be-9b44-42e9-a8dd-67a48d0c56c4
It contains both "mason" and "ring" in title and in tags!
But I found this jar ($-0) with no likes at all:

https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-models/household/kitchenware/mason-jar-77453e76-bb76-4592-a53f-276ddcc48f7d

wich contains one word "mason" in title and in tags and does not contain any "ring" (((((((((((( !!!

Who can explain it?

By the way My ring is on the second page after various tools (trowels, level, probably related to construction and not to jewelry)

Unfortunately I also find the search engine on CGT to be unreliable and not working well, especially with more than one keyword.
For example, yesterday I searched for "mercedes sl 450" and had and empty page, because the search engine interpreted the "sl" keyword as Renderman .sl format.
Basically, all SL Mercedes models can be extremely hard to find if a customer looks for them.
IMHO The search should be reworked and that's very important.

same goes for me. I was looking for the Gopro MAX but it will search for only autodesk 3d max files instead...

Here is ifficial answer: "We are aware of the issues with the search on our site and are currently working on resolving them ."

- It is interesting for me how many years this problem is known?

I put a word in search in Turbosquid and it works every time, what is the point of having a product ID? the search on Sketchfab also works. I made a list of model ID's but I wasted my time as I can't go back and find them. On here it is worse than useless!

True. There is a kind of workaround though. I just tested it, so it should work for you too: Use google search and type: "site:cgtrader.com 2982921" just replace the number with Model ID you are looking for.

Doh.. formatting on replies sucks here, so here it is again:

site:cgtrader.com 2982921

It basically tells google to look for that number only on cgtrader site and it gives single and accurate results in my tests.
