Hi cgtrader,
I have a
problem uploading large files. I have some models with 8k textures that have
multiple texture sets and the source PSD included. The FBX and OBJ files are
both packed separately as a WINRAR archive for uploading. So I have two files
per model each 2,2 GB+
I’ve tried
uploading with the normal upload tool several times (uploading takes 10 – 12 hours
for one file). But after the upload reaches 100% and the file is processed –
nothing happens. It simply isn’t there. The entry where we can select file
format and version number doesn’t show up.
So I
requested bulk import and got a standard email asking me for number of models
and method of file transfer. I answered that mail, explained the situation and my prefered file transfer method but
never got a response from cgtrader.
Then I
asked in the chat for help, again explained the situation. The guy in the chat
promised to forward my problem to the department in charge. This was 2 weeks
ago – again no response.
So I’m
again trying to get some help from Cgtrader. It would be nice if we could get
the bulk import thing running because I already have requests from customers
why the new models aren’t uploaded.
yes, therefore i'd like to do it with another import method. The problem is basically to get the data to you.
I guess there are no problems if you have the data to upload to your servers directly?
Also it would be advisable to solve that 2GB+ problem because in general file sizes will most likely become bigger not smaller in the future (8K next step will be 16K aso).

For the faster import we can use FTP, Dropbox, WeTransfer or any other tool you feel comfortable with. You'll simply need to drag and drop all your models and we will take care of setting up your profile and products pages according to your instruction.
1. Please let me know which tool for uploading your models you prefer to use? (FTP, Wetransfer, Dropbox, other)
2. How many models do you have?
With this information we will be able to move forward. If you have any questions, just let me know by replying to this email.
I replied to that mail just as I should - but then no response anymore.
You can upload your models/project to your dropbox account and request for a bulk import, than you will receive an email and your models/project will be uploaded.
