I use autodesk maya and i have that same problem but i could not solve it. so if you get the solution please inform me
Hi
I'm zaapizoop and i am a rigger/animator and upload some of my work on this website.
I wanted to ask you all if you could help me with a problem I've been having. I've been working hard on a plug in for the last 87 hours (With very few hours of sleep)and i have almost accomplished everything i needed.
This is a extremely private project and so i can't give you any details but there is this one problem that looks simple but that i just can't solve.
In order to import projects into the software with the plug in running i have to make sure that they are in a certain way.Whenever i import one of my models it says the same thing and that's that it can't take (Import) it because it has "faces in more than one (multiple) groups".
So my question is (At the risk of sounding like a beginner) "how do you not have something in multiple groups".
(You can download some of models for yourself and try to see where the problem is coming from,i have some free ones that you can just download instantly)
I know that it sounds simple but my mind just can't process this after all the work that went into the plug in,i can't recall a moment when things went wrong, this isn't suppose to be happening and I've tried everything so please help if you can.
Thanks in advance.

what software are you exporting your model from? (eg, Maya, 3DS Max, Blender, Cinema 4D)
What software are you importing your model into? (eg, Unity, Unreal, CryEngine)
What file format are you exporting? (eg. OBJ, FBX, STL, DWG)
Chances are its something in the export settings but each piece of software/ file format has different settings.
