Need modelling advice

Discussion started by goldenztuff

So i recently got a bad review on this model https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-models/animals/mammal/... the dude have a complaint about obvius seams and bad textures and that the animations dont work in blender 3.2 , what it seems weird to me is that no one of the past buyers of the same model have a complaint about seams , so i tought everything was ok , but this guy come and make me doubt about my models quality ... i edited the model page so it shows the uv seams so you can judge by yourself (i just edited it so cgtrade may take some time in upload it), im still fresh in modelling stuff so i just based uv seams of other "pro" model in sketchfab, i always try to avoid seams in the middle of the mesh , just when is necessary , also the seams could be obvius in edit mode but in the final render is almost invisible , that could sound stupid , but i dont do modelling for a career so that was logical thing to me , anyways thats for the seams , about the animations dont working in blender 3.2 , i tested it and it works fine for me , maybe he dont know how ot set up the anims or the fbx work different for every individuall , if thats the case i would like to know if anyone else have the same complaint , about the "bad textures" i still dont know what this guy means about "bad textures" all of those are showing in the preview , if he tought it was bad looking then just dont buy it , but i also tought he refers to another texture maybe the variant that i choose or the barbs textures , the thing is that i messaged him saying that i want to fix the problem and giving him the option of refund because for him the model was unusable , so i wanted to fix it for everyone according to his complaints , but the dude has not responded , maybe he dont know he can refund and he just go to another cg page , so i wanted to get help here , how i can make my projects look better??... thanks in advice!

Paint over the UV seams in substance painter.

that could be usefull but i also want to know if the uv seam pattern actually ruin the model and make it unusable as the dude says, i still see the model as a worth buy in the final render, but the seams are still there even if it looks almost invisible and idk if that really affect the model look , because at first view everything looks good to me...

looks good in the renders, but i dont know how close the client is looking or if there is obvious seams in their use case. If you can see it paint it out, if not then maybe its just 1 customer with OCD.

Agree with 3DCargo the render looks ok to me.....Maybe the guy sorted it and will not admit that he was the one that made the mistake but if you have offered to help I can't see what more you can do really. Maybe contact CGtrader about it and also reply to his comment on his review of your model so that future prospective buyers can see your that your willing to help. Feel it very cheap for a rigged animal model personal but what the heck do I know! Also can the seam not run down the top of the whales body where the fin is instead of the sides because thats where its going to be most visible perhaps.
