Hi, good to have you here,
I’m curious, 18 positive reviews on your page suggest you had some nice models here, so what’s up?
Hey iterateCGI,
Oh, those are reviews I given from the purchased models I got here on CGTrader. That would be awesome to get that many reviews on my own models, but its going to take some time and will power to push through. I'm doing good, just her checking out models and trying to build my own models too. How about yourself?
Aha I see, missed the part “given” after reviews. I’m also doing good, thank you. Started here in 2014 and watched how this site grew to the biggest and most successful 3D stock market on the net. I’m in 3D for over 20 years now, it keeps me healthy. Very mush look forward to photo-real metaverse and create worlds for it, I’m on long journey towards that. Meanwhile perpetually learning and optimize workflows, use new tech/tools and mold the creative skills. Its a fun ride so far, bumpy road sometimes but I'm getting there.
Oh snaps! Congrats for 20 years in the 3D world/space, Hope you have another awesome 20 more years to continue on! It's going to be a long while before I reach that journey lol, but awesome to keep on learning and get better workflow. I'm just trying to perfect the modeling side or just try to make dreams into reality with Blender, hope to grow and keep using awesome tools in the future.
I think the creative part is going to be the most important one as AI develops into these conversational tools like disco diffusion (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FA2MNG8D5x0). I imagine things going to keep progressing in this direction and eventually entire 3D worlds get made based on conversations with these tools (hopefully still in my lifetime).
Woah!!! That looks amazing! Just saw the video, definitely need to check that out, I also signed up for another AI tool - Dall-E 2 that makes custom images base on the text description, currently a sign up/wait list at the moment https://openai.com/dall-e-2/
Yeah it’s going hard in the field, there's also another one called Midjourney, it’s in beta so need to apply to get in. Artbreeder (https://www.artbreeder.com/browse) is also very interesting, it works differently but if you get used to the controls it’s kind of more controllable to steer the output. You can progressively get some outputs and keep crossbreeding it. It amazes me you can actually animate the results from disco diffusion and fake some 3D effect (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMfdmcukMM4xx29NRbbfrUQ/videos)

I can imagine getting some AI to actually generate some 3D geometry out of this isn't that far out at this point. Maybe some interesting experiment would be to try some 3D photogrammetry app on some rotating subject/output. Very exiting stuff! If you encounter some news on the subject then by all means feel free to share it in the forum.
PS: If you get into disco diffusion then definitely check out this page (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1l8s7uS2dGqjztYSjPpzlmXLjl5PM3IGkRWI3IiCuK7g/edit)
Oh wow! A lot of awesome tools to check out and experiment with - Thank you for the awesome information and tools, I will definitely check it out and see what I can create! Thank you again and I will also try to spread some 3D news/tools if I come across anything. I did purchased a course to learn the ropes of the 3D photogrammetry, just need to get off my lazy butt and watch the course and go and do the actual tool function lol
Lol, there are actually great videos on how to combat procrastination (something I'm also not immune to), just be careful watching those does not become a new form of procrastination ;-)
Yeah, I think I hit that stage of procrastination lol! Watching all the blender tutorials but not actually doing the tutorials/exercise - Big oof
