Have to reset password to log in.

Discussion started by CGPitbull

This is the second time this has happened to me in two days. I have to reset my password to log in to my account. Are other people experiencing this problem? I'm trying to find out if it's temporary or if I should contact the CGTrader team.

I have another account at CGTrader, and the same thing is happening to me, but it's even worse. I'm trying to reset my password, but I don't even receive the email to reset it... What's going on?

Also happened here.
And I got a strange e-mail from 3dprojects@info.cgtrader.com.

New message/attachment waiting for you

support-cgtrader left you the following message/attachment in your “Subject: Action Required Verify Your Payment Details to Access Your New Order” Project Workspace:

However, your payment details have not yet been verified in our system, and for security reasons, the order cannot be processed until verification is complete. Please note that starting from April 15, 2025, CGTrader has introduced an updated verification procedure for all designers receiving payments. This is part of our enhanced security measures to ensure a safe and compliant payout process for our community. To proceed, please complete the verification process by clicking the secure link below and following the instructions: Complete Verification Now Complete Verification Now Complete Verification Now Once your payout information is verified, the buyer’s order will be properly displayed in your account, and the funds will be transferred directly to your registered payment method. Important: CGTrader holds the client’s payment securely for up to 24 hours. If verification is not completed within this time frame, the order will be canceled automatically, and your account may be temporarily restricted. You can appeal and restore access at any time. Please check your 3D Projects workspace and reply, if needed.

Yes, I received the same message. I went to the end to see what it was about. At the end, they asked you to enter your bank card details to receive the money. I filled it out with false information to see how far it would go. It's a scam... I've reported it.

Also same here.... I didn't even dare click on the links. Extremely suspicious. Be careful out there. From what I understand, just clicking can get you into trouble. Especially on a phone... :/

But how do the scammers can message you from e-mail that is registered with cgtrader domain? What the hell is happening there? And it's especially baffling to see that cgtrader treats these spam onslaughts with silence. No warning to the community, no assurance that they are taking measures to prevent similar attempts in the future. Like really?!

LemonadeCG. I think you could create a fake account/website with info.cgtrader.com and pretend to be them. Even so, that would set off alarm bells if someone created a CGTrader account with this email... but I honestly don't know what to think anymore.

Anyone can send email with any domain name. I can also send emails with cgtrader.com domain. But any proper email provider like Gmail will not let it pass thru if it was really not send from that domain. If you are using some less "pro" email provider, which does not allow you to inspect email header data, with sender info, you should be really careful.
Btw I encountered numerous bugs here in recent days.

I also received quite strange 3D project invitation which I can't access anymore. Someone mentioning similar thing in other thread. Something fishy is going on. Other marketplace also send warning email about same phishing attempts.
