Evil 3D Printer people

Discussion started by SimonTGriffiths

Yeah, yeah, I know. Not everyone that buys models for 3D printing is evil, but some of you are >.<

I've had two negative reviews now from guys that bought models to 3D print that was NOT in the 3D Print section, CLEARLY stating that they were "Game-Ready", and yet they still gave a negative review because of "details not on model"...

Instead of actually getting a refund they go straight for the throat! They both sent me a message telling me their problem, and I politely informed them that the models they had bought were NOT for 3D printing, and they should grab a refund - I also included a "Good luck, hope you find what you're looking for" at the end...

I do feel support should be able to look into these cases and remove the negative reviews, as it's just not fair!

3D Print guys;

Please check the model description for either the words "Print-ready" or, "Game-ready".

Some Game-ready model will still 3D print but a lot of the detail you see is in the texture, not the model surface. Please, ask the creator if their model will 3D Print before damning them with a bad review for a mistake that YOU have made.

Thanks.

Rant over :D

But should they get a refund at all when you have stated that the model is "game-ready"? The mistake is theirs clearly, not yours and they have downloaded your files. I don't see why they should be offered a refund in this case.

Else I agree with you. I have had a similar experience once, but it ended good. They guy blamed himself in the end.
Hopefully support will remove the negative reviews.

I agree with you, buyer should not be eligible for refund in this case.

This happens very often indeed. I also had such refund.

And I think such refunds shouldn't be allowed when the models is downloaded, because that can be exploited from model thieves.

Contact the support and ask to remove unjustified negative reviews. It's customers mistake and it has nothing to do with the quality of your models.

And CGT staff even exports STL for them from your clearly non printable models and adds it as another format.
Now it can be removed but in past I wasn't able to remove these STLs so buyers were even misguided with these.

There should be "Printable" checkbox for ALL models instead of splitting models into two huge categories which buyers are not aware of.

Thank you Austeja. All good :) Might be an idea though to address the issue as IndieArt suggested?

I've had a negative review after the customer successfully 3d printed one of my models that were indeed for 3d printing, but he claimed the model broke while he was removing the supports. I'm not sure it's our fault if they break the model while moving supports. Still, I actually revised the model specifically for him by making it a few mm thicker than it had been and he actually admitted that he should have rotated the model in the slicer so that the supports were placed differently, but yet the initial negative review still stands and my ranking has suffered ever since.

So as a result of this, I've started to put a disclaimer on some of the more complex models that they are intended for SLS printing (which does not require supports), and print with extrude method at your own risk. All dimensions and wall thickness specifications are clearly mentioned on each model too. I hope that helps prevent accidental mishaps with supports in the future but I doubt it.
