Does anyone know how to create simple car 3D GAMES? I am looking to get a quote on creating a simple car game for kids.

I just want to make a very simple 3d car game, either from scratch or modify an existing super low poly game like

trigger rally, mario kart, carmageddon 1 etc.... I am not picky about the programming language that is used, it can be anything from C++, open GL, visual basic etc...

I am trying to make a video game that has 1 basic track and then import some of my super low poly car models.

Does anyone know how to do this kind of thing?

There are several ways you could do this project. By the sounds of it the project is really simple and basic, so you could probably create it yourself using either Unreal Engine or Unity game engines. They both have marketplaces/ stores where you can buy code or 3D models and piece it together.

OR you can buy the 3D models you want from CGTrader and then ask someone to program the game for you. Both of these methods involve spending a bit of money on either buying models and coding it yourself or paying someone to code it for you.

You may want to take a look at BeamNG.drive. Not sure how much you can alter gameplay itself (if there is any), but AFAIK it is very popular driving sandbox game.

The most difficult part i've found (especially in unity) is getting an even semi realistic car suspension set up. unless you can find some pre written scripts for that sort of thing, the work can get intense and time consuming.

Unreal engine offers free template for vehicles.

I have never really even thought to mess with it. How does it compare to Unity in terms of user friendliness and performance?

At first I felt more comfortable with Unity, but I'm now completely seduced by Unreal Engine. It's powerful and import .fbx exported from lightwave in a very straightforward way. Besides, it's real-time renderer is a blast, at the point where I think my next animation movie will be rendered in Unreal.

Thanks guys! Sorry about the late reply! I will look into all this. Also though... I don't want to do the programming myself. I have done a bit of programming in the unreal engine before for a first person shooter type game but it was super time consuming etc... I would much rather get someone to help me. I already have cars that I can throw into the game and a couple of sample set although I am also sure there should be a bunch of free sets that can be imported into a basic game.

Does anyone know how much it would cost to get a basic game like this up and running? One maybe a max of two cars running at the same side, no need for suspension as the game could just be about drifting around a basic track... I only mentioned trigger rally because it is free and open source but any basic game would do just fine. BeamNG.drive looks awesome!

I would like to see the game you made before I buy it but yes that would be a great way to get things done.

Would you be able to help me import some of my cars into it as well?

This is really cool! I would like to know more!
