copy right of models from Disney or anything

i was wondering if anyone knows the laws of copy right in the 3d world

i have made my own model of baby groot i have not taken any work and modified it this is made from scratch

i am planning on selling it on my website but i dont know if i could get in trobule

im sure it must be ok cg trader does it what do you all think

As far as I know so long as the artist has not protected their content you can print and sell your own version of the models. In some cases so long as you made enough variation of a certain model and call it a spoof or imitation model you can even sell something like a Disney product but it can't be an exact copy of the original unless the company gives you special permission. I think Hasbro or the company who makes My Little pony allow you to make those and sell them as exact copies so long as you give them a percentage of your earnings either directly on on a website... it may be thingyverse...
