Change Transfer Method Back to Payoneer!!

Discussion started by musaworks

Joined CGTrader back in mid 2022, and had a greatstart. I explored 3D modeling and design, learning a great deal along the way. Infact, this was my 1st earning experience, which was a significant motivator for me to continue working, despite the relatively modest amount earned. However, I am increasingly dissatisfied with the rapid changes occurring on CGTrader's platform, particularly the introduction of AI functionalities, model verification processes, and most notably, the switch from Payoneer to Hyperwallet.

I recently set up my Hyperwallet account and was disappointed to find out that the transaction fee I'm required to pay amounts to approximately $4.17, whereas my available funds only total $1.16. This significant fee greatly impacts my earnings. Therefore, I kindly request that the CGTrader team reconsider this change and revert to the previous payment method. I don't want to leave CGTrader, but see no other option right now.

The fact they changed it and did not respond to any of the 100 threads on here about hyperwallet means unfortunately you have no other option any more.

You could always try other market placers or wait for Unreal FAB marketplace... however even Unreal FAB is using Hyperwallet... So that seems to be the future of things currently.

Yes, you are right. I think they're going to continue with Hyperwallet, unfortunately. Thanks for the great explanation.

Learning to create models that can be sold at normal prices (at least 25$) is not an option?

This is actually a good point. If you sell on average 1 model per month @ $3 (which is your current rate). you get 70% of that (from CGT) so thats $2.10. From that you minus payment processing + tax so thats about 4% less again (so in your case $0.12) which means your royalties are $1.98. So from the sounds of it hyperwallet is taking $0.80 from you. If you sold your models at a higher price then you would receive more income with a reduced rate from hyperwallet. For example I paid almost 1% of my total income in hyperwallet fees on my last month payment. You dont get something for nothing in this world mate, you gotta pay the fees along the way. My software licenses cost me over $1,000 per year, but it earns me money so I pay it and its a business expense so its worth it. Also if you are business savvy you could also claim your losses on your tax statement.

That's right, but I'm afraid that mentioning spending 1000$ will plunge a student into indescribable Lovecraftian horror. The situation is quite paradoxical. On the one hand, this is a hobby for the author and a hobby of course may not generate income at all or even be unprofitable and under certain conditions this is absolutely normal, but in this situation it is obvious that the author wants to earn money and can do it, i.e. there are no problems with a hyperwallet, but...

Got it. You make a valid point about the distinction between pursuing a hobby and aiming to earn from it. I think the decrease in earnings compared to when I first started earning money has caused me more concern.

Why not for example instead of 5 models for 2$ spend this time creating a one model that can be sold for 10-15$? You have no deadlines, no need to save top positions, no high risks and no need to pay to use Blender. What is the problem?

@jaguarbeastproduction you are totally right. I was not thinking this way instead I started to panic. Best advice. Appreciate it
