Budget can't be less than $70 ?

Is that a new thing when you can't order a model for less than $70 even if it's a very simple model that doesn't take longer than 20 minutes to make?

If you know it just takes 20 minutes to make, why don't you design one?

because I wanted to give work to someone like you, but I guess I'll do it myself at this point :)))

Let us know how you make out. I definitely would save myself 70 bucks if I knew I could do it in 20 minutes, but I appreciate your generosity to the artists.

It also could be a problem with the system. https://www.cgtrader.com/forum/general-discussions/anyone-else-having-problem-applying-to-3d-projects

I guess it's 3rd "bright" idea. To increase minimal project cost in order to make designers receive more money. But what is bothering to change minimal price back to 50$ and project commission to 5-10%?

after all designers will be making less money and the CG will be making less commission, it's a win/win situation LOL

They should increase it to 100$ if you ask me, so there will be less people who post projects stating that their budget is 50$ but they need fully high detailed (sculped) hq Statue of Liberty that actually cost over 500$. Even 100$ is not enough... People must understand that CG stuff is expensive "sport", the other thing is that buyers are used to 3d artists who enjoy slavery and are willing to sell their soul for couple of bucks and not respect their own sacrifice and work.

What if somebody needs a small simple name necklace for making birthday gift?

Why would it be important to me as an artist what is someones need ?Just because it's simple necklace it doesn't mean/assume that it has to be cheap, that's the main problem here as i wrote above. There are plenty of necklaces on sale here on cgt , if you want the custom one, that's going to cost you like for everything else that is custom made in the world. As I said 100$ , price can always be talked down if artist in question is willing to do so.

This reminds me of a story when a seller here who sell 3d models of cars were asked to make custom made model of a car , and he/she said i charge 500$ for that , so (insulted) buyer asked , how 500$ when you are selling them on cgt for 100-170$. I hope you get the point.

If I do a job in 20 minutes, it's because I have spent years learning how to do it well and quickly. Customer have to pay for the years of experience it took to get to this point, not the 20 minutes.

It's funny because people don't tell electricians or plumbers the job took 10 mins, therefore it's only 10$!

Its even funnier if we mention heart surgeon ? Its the same thing right ? To fix leaking pipe and save someones life via heart surgery ?

oh well, CG will be pushing customers to others sites who wants to order models for reasonable prices and these 3d designers who was earning money here will be losing their orders, simple as that.....

On the other side of the coin, there were many projects posted that would require significant amount of time to do, but the customer was only willing to pay a very small amount. Yet even those had dozens of artists willing to work for that price. When artists are willing to work for pennies, it will eventually become an expectation.

these jobs you're talking about would be priced higher than $70 anyhow , so it changes nothing for the designers. If you look at the supply / demand situation you'll see that there much more demand for modeling than supply of orders like when I placed an order for $180 I got over 80 offers with bidding it down to $60 for the lowest . CG should of done research before pulling this move...

I've read more complaints from the artists saying that they are getting the shaft when it comes to doing jobs rather than saying it was an equitable deal. Perhaps that's why CGT changed it. I'm not saying they changed it for the betterment of the customer or the artists, but it definitely is better for them.

Maybe someone should remove the pricing on the home pages that reads “from $42 and up”. That’s probably causing some confusion if it’s not true.
